Natsu POV

After we finished cleaning up Hogan's room, we set him in a motel across the country until he woke up so he wouldn't try to come back. I decided to go to the Infirmary to check on how Lucy was doing.

I walked through the doors and saw something I didn't expect. I saw her and her cat sleeping peacefully with her cat on her bare stomach and a blanket over them both. I stared at her for a while and saw that she was still wearing her cloak from earlier. I walked over to try to take it off but when I touched it, she growled. I thought she was waking up but she just tossed her head to the side and resumed sleeping. I decided to leave the cloak on her because it obviously meant something to her.

I barely know this girl and she's already making me go crazy. It's so much more than I feel for Lisanna and any girl that I've dated in the past. I'm determined to make her open up to me and to befriend her.

I feel like it is something I'm meant to do.

Lucy POV

After that awkward encounter with Natsu and Happy while Izzy and I were "sleeping" on the couch, they wanted to bring us to their house to get better sleep but Izzy declined for the both of us since we were comfortable. They left after a few minutes of trying to convince us to come to their house to spend the night.

Izzy fell asleep pretty quickly after they left and I resumed looking at the stars through the skylight that was directly above the couch. My mind kept wandering back to that pink haired idiot who kept making me feel things that I didn't want to feel. After a while, I started to slowly slip into an unconscious state that was still alert.

~The Next Morning~

Izzy and I got up at around 7 a.m. to get an early start on finding an apartment/home to live in. I kept my hood up just to cause less trouble and not get into any unnecessary problems. After a few minutes of walking, we saw a for sale sign of a small house near the river. We decided to check it out and found out it was perfect for us. The landlady was very nice and didn't realize who I was which I was grateful for (A/N: I know this is completely false but whatever). We immediately settled down and decided to head into town to get some supplies like clothes and such to make the home feel more homely.

As we were walking downtown, we saw Natsu and Happy at a food stand drooling over some steak they were cooking. I decided to do something nice for once and wrote down on my notebook an order.

For the pink haired idiot who's standing in front of your stand, make him whatever he wants and this will be the payment.

I put the note down on the stand along with a $100 bill.

I walked off, feeling the stares from him burning into my back.

We got back to our house and put out new clothes in the wash to get rid of bacteria and such while we ate our food that we got on the way back.

"This is delicious but I like your cooking better mommy!" Isabelle explained with a big grin on her face.

I was utterly shocked and Izzy noticed. She had never called me mommy before so it was a shock to both of us once she realized what she said.

Thinking that I was upset that she called me that she frantically waved her hands in front of her chest and explained herself.

"I didn't mean to say that, I just thought that since you've raised me since I was really young..." she trailed off but I was still too shocked to respond.

Instead of responding, I pulled her into a tight hug and I could feel her shaking. I pulled back and looked her straight in the eyes with a gentle smile playing on my face.

"You can call me mommy all you want, I was just really surprised that you called me that and it took a while to figure out what to say. I do feel very motherly towards you and I think it is kind of fitting that I am your mom."

Tears were streaming down her face which I gently whipped away as she flew into my chest to hug me again.

"I'm so glad, I thought you were mad at me for calling you that and I got really scared, I don't like it when you're mad." she explained through her sniffles.

"I would never get mad at you, no matter what. I need you to know that." I whispered into her ears while petting her head comfortingly. I felt her nod against me so I pulled back, whipped the remaining tears on her face, and kissed her forehead. She smiled and we went back to eating in a comfortable silence.
