Octopus powder, he writes, for strengthening potions.
He barely thinks when concocting anymore. He barely feels, either; never worries or frets. His fingers and hands are confident in the skill he's gained. He trusts them now. He knows them.
He is eager to succeed. Driven, even. Although he is less certain about their destined purpose.
He began this potion in an unclear state of thought. He continued it whilst unstable. The illogical thoughts still being the drive for the product, he considers putting a halt to the operation altogether. He doesn't want to resurrect the dead, as much as he is still pained by a great loss. Tampering with life is never something that can have a good outcome. And bring Lily back for what? Just to have her a little longer? To lose her later again? Losing her once was enough for his heart; he doesn't need to go through it again.
Perhaps he can use it for something else. If not, he'll simply have to throw it out.
He mixes the potion and hides it back in the cupboard.
