5:30 AM

Every step towards the familiar office made my chest tight and my fist clench. I thought I had left this dirty life behind when I left New York. This city and the people are cold and I wanted no parts of it anymore but no matter what, I get sucked right back in.

It was a toxic endless cycle.

My mind thought of Jocelyn, sleeping soundly in bed. Her face deep in her pillow as she snored softly. She barely even noticed when I climbed out of bed until I was fully dressed.

"Where are you going?" Her eyes squinted as she tried to focus on me, a cute pout on her lips. I didint hesitate to walk over and plant a kiss on her lips, making her cheeks warm, "I'm going to the meeting. I should be back soon." She pouts as she nods her head, "I'm gonna be cold without you." She sighs sadly and looks up at me with puppy eyes. I chuckle as I lean down to give her a big hug, earning one from her, "Take all my warmth until I get back." She giggles as she squeezes me tighter, "And be quick because it won't last all day." She mumbles softly and I slowly pull away, only for her to still cling to me.

"You gotta let me go, b-" Her soft lips cut me off as her hands cane up to hold my cheeks. The kiss was slow and soft before she pulled away, her lips glossy and
pouting, "P-Please don't be too long.." Her hands gripped my shirt gently and I nod my head before pecking her lips again, "I won't baby.."

My feet stopped right before the large door, "Make it quick." I remind myself before pushing the thick doors open and stepping inside.

"So knocking doesn't exist?" Robbie laughed from behind his desk, his eyes twinkling in entertainment as he faced me fully. I roll my own and step forward, "Why did you call me? And send that stupid bitch to get me?" I snap as I make my way to his desk.

Robbie's smile dropped to a grimace, "That bitch is my niece and she wanted to see you.." He crossed his arms over his big chest, "I think you would do by her good." He leaned forward and I scoffed, "Fuck no." I didn't wait for his response before sitting my ass down in one of the chairs.

"You disappear off the map, call my niece a bitch, and make yourself at home in my office.." He sends me a nasty glare, "You haven't changed a bit." His face lifts to a smirk as he laughs but I don't join in, "How did you find me?" I cut him off and he looks at me amused, "How could I not? Who else you know beats the fuck out of a man in a Toys R Us?" Robbie laughed louder, "It's like you were trying to be found!" He shook his head as he looked at me, "And why did you fight in the first place? Matter of fact, why were you even in there?" He laughter slowly died down as he rested forward on his hands, trying to catch his breath.

My eyes rolled hard as I picked up the files in front of me, "Cut the shit. You want me to assassinate this man?" I ignore his questions and earn a soft huff from him, "Yeah that's him." My eyes scanned his information before stopping on the picture. He was a well groomed Asian man with eye wrinkles and a big smile. I look to Robbie, "The fuck he do?" A grimace wrinkled his face as he sat back up, "He was one of my financial agents until he stole five million and dipped.. He's back in New York and I want him dead." I nod my head slowly, "He's an easy target. Anyone else could have done this." I roll my eyes and he frowns deeply, "His body guard is insane. She is always a step ahead and I can't fucking stand it!" His fist connected with his desk, making his glass fall, "She killed my last three snipers!" He holds up his fingers as he shook with rage, "I want them both gone. Dead. Six feet under!" His eyes connected to the picture and I could see his face redden.

I hum softly and look through the files. The image stops on a woman, her fist flying at the camera right before the picture was taken. Her dark brown skin complimented the red hair she wore and she looked muscular. I frown, "She looks familiar.." I mumble and Robbie nods, "She is a former FBI Agent and even protected the president. She's not to be taken lightly." He explains before getting out his chair, "I have everything you need from masks to weapons.. All you have to do is take them out." I sigh softly and lean back, rubbing my chin gently, "And what if I don't want to do it?" I look to him and he sighs, "Why wouldn't you, Dion? You know you my number one.." I could see the stress in his face and I couldn't lie and say I didn't enjoy it.

"You know I'm retired and quit this life." I feign annoyance and glare at him as my finger came up to rest on my temple, "You want me to stop what I'm doing to help you kill two weird bitches for taking your money." I point it the files and he sighs loudly, "Yes.. I'll pay you good." My lips lift to a smirk, "Oh? And how much?" He pauses and grabs a piece of paper before scribbling on it. Our eyes connect as he folds it and slides it to me.

I grab it and open it, "1 million?.. To take out a scammer and crazy ass FBI agent?" I scoff and take the pen before writing my own number down. His eyes narrow as he watches me slide the paper back, "The hell do you- 5 million?!" He yells and looks at me with wide eyes, "Why would I do that?!" He crumpled the paper in his hands and I scoff, "Why wouldn't you? I'm helping you get revenge." I lean in and he leans away, his eyes watching me closely.

"4 million." He extends his hand and I smirk, "6 million." I grab his hand and he angrily groans, "Fine!" He gives in and grasps my hand, "5 mil.." he grumbles and I smile,

"Pleasure doing business with you."
