It's a sunny Saturday afternoon and I'm on my way to pick the twins up for our afternoon at the burger place. I get in my car and drive to Sam's house. I awkwardly walked up to the door and rang the bell. I grinned as Mickey answered.
"Ella! Dad said you were taking us out to get burgers? Is it true?!" He asked me excitedly.
"Of course it is, why do you think I'm here Mickey?" I laughed.
"I'm Mason." Mickey grinned, trying to trick me.
"No you're not, I'm not daft. Mason normally wears a red shirt and you've got a blue one on. Where is Mason anyway?" I added, looking around for him.
"I'm here, I was getting my coat but I couldn't decide which one to wear. Someone thought it would be funny to take my glasses too so I can't see where I'm going." Mason answered, coming outside.
"Oh what a terrible decision that must have been to make. Here's your glasses Mason." I grinned at him, taking the glasses off Mickey and handing them back to Mason.
"I don't know how you can see through them things. My eyes have gone funny now." Mickey complained.
"Serves you right for taking them dummy." Mason argued.
"Shut up, you're a bigger dummy than me." Mickey argued back.
"Boys pack it in please. You don't have to argue about everything you know." I sighed loudly.I saw Sam coming out of the door and asked the boys to wait in the car. I didn't want them to pick up on the tension between us.
"Please can you have them back by 6pm? They're sleeping over at their friends house tonight because I'm going out. I might find myself a new woman." He told me, adding the last bit clearly trying to make me jealous.
"Yeah that's fine. I've got a date with my boyfriend anyway so I can't be out too late with the boys." I added, trying to make him jealous as well.
"Oh I see, he's a lucky man." Sam replied sadly, going into the house and closing the door behind him.I felt bad for lying to him about my 'boyfriend' but he's hurt me enough so it's time to get him back for it. You might think that's petty and I suppose it is but oh well. I got in the car and drove to the burger place with the twins.
"I'm gonna get the biggest burger and the biggest milkshake!" Mason shouted excitedly.
"No I'm gonna get the biggest one!" Mickey argued.
"No I am!" Mason argued back.
"No I will! Ella will you tell him?" Mickey shouted.
"Both of you pack it in otherwise I'll turn round, take you home and neither of you will get anything!" I snapped at them both.
"Sorry Ella." Mason sighed, apologising.
"Yeah sorry Ella." Mickey apologised.
"Good. Now quieten down please because I nearly crashed then." I told them both.We got to the burger place and of course the boys wanted everything on the damn menu. We ordered our food and the boys started eating straight away.
"Oh Ella, I got a certificate for getting good comments for my school work." Mason told me with his mouth so wide open I could see the burger and strawberry milkshake going round in it.
"That's good and I'm proud of you Mason but can you please not speak with your mouth full? It's bad manners and I'm sure you've been brought up better than that." I told him, trying not to gag from the sight of cheeseburger and strawberry milkshake.
"Yeah Mason that's naughty." Mickey taunted him.
"Shut your face." Mason argued throwing a chip at Mickey.
"Boys don't start arguing again please? I've told you both twice already for squabbling with one another. Can we just have a nice time? I haven't seen you both for ages and I want us to have fun. I don't want to be constantly telling you off and stopping you squabbling." I told them both, trying to keep the peace.
"Sorry Ella." They both apologised at the same time.
"Thank you. The next person who says sorry has to wash my car next week." I grinned at them.
"Ew no, we better behave then." Mason giggled.
"I thought so you little monkeys." I laughed. After the burger place, I took the boys to the park for a bit to burn some energy off them. I then took them home because Sam said to have them home by 6.00pm and it was almost 5.30pm by this point.
"Bye Ella, see you soon hopefully." The boys told me at the same time, giving me hugs.
"You'll definitely see me soon, don't worry about that." I smiled at them, reassuring them.
