It's been two weeks. Two whole weeks. The doctors keep saying that we might have to give up soon. How can they say that? She's a human being. She's breathing. She's alive, and they want me to give up! I just want to see her. I want to hold her hand and tell her everything will be okay, but I don't know that. She can't hear me either which drives me insane. She missed my birthday. Not that I'm upset because I don't even like my birthday, but it would've been nice to have her here. My birthday is always hard for me. We're coming up on Christmas. It'll be my first Christmas with the Woods and with her. I wanted it to be special, but she can't even move.
"Lexa, you have to get up. We have school," Luna urges me.
"I don't want to go Luna," I say simply while pushing my face into a pillow.
"I know you miss her, but we can't do anything. She would want you to be at school, not moping around," Luna reminds me.
"I know," I murmur.
"C'mon, let's go to school," she says while grabbing my arm.
"Okay," I whisper and get up.
"We can go see her after," she says.
"That sounds nice," I smile.
"There's that smile I've been missing," she smiles and nudges me playfully. I just shrug. "I know you think it's your fault for not taking her sooner, but none of us could of known. We're all at fault," she tells me.
"I know," I whisper.
"Okay, now let's go," she pulls me downstairs.
I get ready like every other day. I don't really have the motivation to go, but I don't want to fall behind. I always bring Clarke's work back and tell them I keep it for her for when she wakes up, but I actually just do all her work for her. We do the same stuff, so it's easy to just copy my work onto hers. I know it's wrong, but I'm gonna help her catch up when she wakes up. I'm NOT gonna let her fail her Junior year just because her mom's an ass.
The ride to school is really slow, but the day itself goes by pretty fast despite it being Monday. There's actually no problems at all until English. The teacher was teaching, and she asked me if I wanted to take Clarke's work home a little too loudly. Some kid decided it was smart to yell, "Isn't she dead?" I was FUMING, but I wasn't one to lose my temper. Mrs. Crewe chewed his ear off and got him suspended though so it was worth it. I flashed her a grateful smile. I know she knows that this year has been hard for Clarke, and I'm glad she's willing to stick up for her.
Clarke's POV
I was pacing around the room non stop. I was watching the timer on my phone. 1 more minute. Okay, I can do this. Breathe. just breathe. In and out Clarke. I jumped when the alarm actually went off. I rushed to the test and read it. "Positive". I smiled like a dork. I threw the door open and jumped into Lexa's waiting arms. "We're pregnant," I smiled.
"Really?" she breathes.
"Really," I smile.
Next thing I know she's planting kisses all over my face. I can't help but laugh. "I hod yu in, (I love you)" she whispers after a while.
"I hod yu in sentaim,(I love you too)" I say. She's been teaching me her secret language since College. We don't use it much, but when we use it, it's because English can't explain correctly how we feel.
"We have to tell our parents," she coos after a while of celebrating.
"I know," I whisper.
"Want to call them and ask them to meet us here?" she asks.
"Okay," I smile.
Suddenly, everything went blank.
