"I can't believe that this happened," says Sadie as she paces back and forth. We are back home, but without either of my parents. They're both missing.
"Yeah well, I'm sure that we could find a way to get them back," Seraphina says.
I bite my lip anxiously, and look at my girlfriend for a moment. She's right, we can get them back, in theory. But first, we must find out where they went. I tap my chin and look over at Sadie.
"Ever called a vision?"
"Yes. Why?"
"Think you could ask one what happened?"
She shrugs. "Maybe." She leans back in her seat and closes her eyes. Then, her whole body goes rigid and her eyes open a little, showing that they're pure white. She gasps as the vision ends. "Okay. So, your dad was carrying your mom away from the Visage goons that were after them. But she was hurt and one of the Visage people, whose face I couldn't see, cast a spell at them, and it causes your dad to disappear."
My heart sinks. "What color was the spell? And what happened to Mom?"
"The spell was blue. And she was saved by some humans, but I don't know how long she will be safe from the Visage."
I sigh and stand up again, and then I spread my wings. "I need to get to them. But who should I go for first?"
"We could split up," Sadie offers. "I'll go look for your mom and you can look for your dad."
I nod. "Okay. I'll have to go to the place where they were, so maybe you should come with me, Sadie, and Seraphina, you go look for Mom."
Seraphina nods. "Okay. I will see you in a while."
I hug and kiss her. She holds me in her arms, pressing her hands against my back where my wings meet my spine. She gently strokes my wing and then steps back.
"Be careful," she says.
"Careful is my middle name."
She snorts. "Sure it is."
I smile at her, and then we split up.
