"JOY! WAKE UP!"
"Ugh, leave me alone, Mione," I groaned, without opening my eyes. "Joy, you're at home! Wake up! It's Christmas!"
I opened my eyes to see Sirius. "Oh yeah, I came home last night, I forgot."
"In a good mood which Tia pointed out, a strangely good mood, explain."
I wasn't going to tell Over Protective Dad No.2 that I had my first kiss. I'd never hear the end of it.
"It's nothing, just had a nice night," I told him. "Well, I got the full report, you went with an older boy," he folded his arms.
"DAD!" I shouted.
"Oi! What did I do?!" Sirius feigned hurt. Dad poked his head in. "Is everything alright?"
"He's trying to give me the third degree," I pouted. "Sirius," Dad gave him a stern look. "She was with an older boy, I thought you promised me you would kill him!" Sirius exclaimed. "Dad!" I gasped. "I promised nothing," Dad held his hands up in surrender. "No, Remus you specifically promised me that you would kill him, especially if they snogged."
"Ugh!" I face-palmed myself. "I hate you both."
"You love us," Sirius was hugging me like a koala. No escape. "Aw don't worry, Joy," he was rocking me like a baby. "You won't be kissing any boys under my watch."
"Bit late for that," I muttered under my breath. "What?!" Dad gasped. "Oh, I forgot you had werewolf hearing," I grimaced.
"What did she say, Remus?" Sirius asked him. "Oh, look at the time," I yawned and I slipped out of Sirius' grip. "Joanna Hope Jones you get back here!"
"No thanks!" I ran down the stairs. "Tia! Dad and Uncle Pads are in ultimate Dad mode!"
"Why?" Tia had a bit of a bed head when she was in the living room. "Because I snogged someone," I admitted. "YES!" she cheered.
"Excuse me! She snogged a boy!" Sirius pointed at me. "No one likes a snitch," Tia stuck her tongue out at him. "I was fourteen when I had my first kiss, how old were you two?"
Dad then glared at her. "This is not about us, this is about Joy kissing a boy!"
"Yeah, let's go back to that," Sirius piped up. "Oh Merlin," I complained. "She's old enough, Remus, Sirius, let it go," Tia sighed.
"Fine, we'll let it go, for now," Sirius muttered. "But if I hear about any more snogging.."
"Don't worry because I won't tell you," I smirked. "Why you little.."
"Sirius!"

Biscuit flew in, rested on my arm and dropped the letters onto the couch. "Hey there boy, what's up."
I had one letter from Ron and one from Hermione. None from Harry, which surprised me.
Hi Joy
Hermione is really annoyed at me after last night. I think Harry is a little ticked off at you too, dunno why if I'm being honest. Anyway, apparently Snape and Karkaroff are on first name bases, probably something to do with You-Know-Who Harry thinks but they mentioned your family. Karkaroff said that "The Dark Lord is after the Jones girl."
Maybe steer clear of him when you get back. I have a bad feeling about this. Anyway, Christmas isn't the same here without you, it's weird all of us not being together, hope you and your folks are having a good time back home.
See you in a couple of weeks.
Ron
I looked at Hermione's letter next.
Hi Joy
I'm very annoyed at Ronald after last night. He totally embarrassed me. Although Viktor and I had a good night. HE KISSED ME! I literally froze on the spot. I've never been kissed before. I hope you had a good night, if you and Cedric snogged, please let me know, you and Ginny are the only people I can talk to about this kind of stuff.
I overheard Ron talking about Karkaroff and Snape to Harry, be careful when you get back and try to avoid them. I'd give a heads up to your dad and aunt. Anyway, have a good Christmas.
Hermione
"Dad!"
He rushed in with a white face, very spooked. "Merlin, you act like I'm getting murdered," I shook my head. "What's wrong?" Dad asked me. "Mum, I want to talk about her and her mission," I said.
"Oh, Joy, not this again," Dad sighed. "But it's important!" I pointed out. "Dad, please!"
Dad sighed and sat down. "A switch flipped inside her while she was doing it, she wasn't the same. Like she was a different person, they were friends. But she devoted her time to her mission. Every time she looked into Voldemort's mind, it took its toll on her. Voldemort himself came after her once Peter told him it was her who discovered his greatest secret. We all knew that Alivia was looking into his head but we never knew what she found. She'd never tell us since she was forbidden to. Along with the visions of death."
He looked down a little bit. "No matter how many times I badgered her, she never told any of us. She couldn't but I wish Dumbledore had let her. The secrets were too much for her, they drove her insane. But when Alivia predicted her own death, she made sure her secret didn't die with her, that it'd be unearthed one day if necessary. That's what James told me anyway. I have no clue where she hid it though but.....Alivia's diary went missing as did the cup she was trying to destroy but the locket...I've never seen her wear it ever. I didn't even know she had it."
My hand automatically went up to my locket. "It wasn't just Death Eaters chasing us, it was Voldemort. He executed her and thought his secret would stay that way. A secret."
"But we can discover it?" I wondered. "If Mum took advantage of her vision and hid everything, we can find it."
"Joy, this secret is what got Alivia killed, she was hunted down and killed for this exact thing, I am begging you, please! Let it go."
"Dad..." I sighed, not knowing what to say. "I lost someone to that mission once, it will not happen again," he insisted.
"They're looking for it, Dad, Ron told me he overheard Snape talking about me to Karkaroff, they said HE is after me," I told him.
"He's been gone for years, Joy, nothing's going to happen, just drop it, okay?"
