I woke up late during the night. I could not sleep for the life of me. I walked out of the dormitory and downstairs into the common room.
I saw Harry sitting on the couch, looking spooked. "Harry?"
He turned around but sighed once he saw it was me. "You couldn't sleep either?"
"No, just one of those nights when you want to sleep but your body says 'nope' so I came down here..is something wrong? You look like you just got told about Snape's personal life," I muttered.
"Oh, thanks for that Joy," Harry rolled his eyes. "Sorry, but seriously? What's wrong?" I asked him, genuinely concerned. "The diary, I wrote in it..and it wrote back to me," Harry told me.
"It told you what happened fifty years ago right?" I assumed. "Yeah, Hagrid opened it," Harry told me.
I gasped and my mouth hung open. "What?! But it can't have been!"
"It was, Tom Riddle told me," Harry explained. "I mean he has a thing for dangerous creatures."
"Yeah, you're not wrong there, Fluffy and Norbert come to mind," I sighed. "But..it's hard to believe..Hagrid? The Heir of Slytherin? You don't think he's still doing it do you?"
"I wish I knew," Harry mumbled. "We'll work it out," I reassured him. "So that's why Hagrid got expelled, because Riddle caught him, this is mad."
"But the monster killed someone," Harry pointed out. "I know, but we can't say anything," I said. "But if there's another attack, we have to do something."
Harry nodded. "Yeah."

During the Easter holidays, we had to pick electives for third year. "Wish I could give up Potions," Harry sighed. "Ugh, I know but it's mandatory," I pointed out sadly.
I looked down at the form. "Divination? Ooh, Care of Magical Creatures, sounds interesting."
"Because you are one?" Ron frowned. "It's Care of Magical Creatures Ron, they're not going to give us a werewolf to look after, they're dangerous!" Hermione snapped.
"I'm right here!" I exclaimed, throwing my arms up in frustration. "Sorry, you know what I mean," Hermione mumbled. "Yeah, I know," I rolled my eyes. "Anyway, werewolves are dealt with in Defence Against the Dark Arts."
I sighed in exasperation. "They'll be talking about how dangerous and bloodthirsty they are, knowing full well that there's one in the classroom."
Harry and Ron chose the same ones as me. "Are you not doing Ancient Runes?" Hermione asked me. "Nah," I shook my head. "I'm good. Two's enough for me."

The day of the Hufflepuff versus Gryffindor match arrived. On another note, someone nicked the diary.
Why would a Gryffindor take it?
"Should we tell someone?" Hermione asked us. "No!" Ron exclaimed. "Then we'd have to tell someone where we got the diary!"
"Yeah, we'd need a cover story," I pointed out. Harry suddenly jumped out of his skin, surprising us.
"The voice! It's there again!"
Hermione's eyes suddenly widened. "Oh my God! Why didn't I see this before!"
She suddenly started running the other direction. "Where are you going!" I yelled after her. "Library!" she shouted back. "What didn't she see?" Harry wondered.
"I guess we'll find out later," Ron shrugged. "When in doubt, Hermione goes to the library."
Me and Harry grabbed our brooms and headed towards the Quidditch pitch.
