Y/n's POV:

'The blood... all the blood... you can't unsee it.
He stands over all the chaos... the red metallic liquid dripping down his hands.
Fear, it over takes me... my body shakes.
He then turns to me... a smile on his face... I'm next...
I need to hid.

I run, I run as fast as I can.
Up the stairs and in a closet.
I sit in a tight ball, knees against my chest.

My eyes are closed tightly... it's dark... I try so hard not to move, not to make a sound.
I hear loud screams and cries all around me, they're getting louder and louder.

They finally stop... I open my eyes... is it over?

Then I hear it... the foot steps, quickly approaching me.
The door flies open.

It's him...

He found me...'

"NO!" I sit straight up in a cold sweat. The sun sleeps through the drapes shining straight into my eyes. I sigh falling back down on my pillow.

"Not again..." I rub my tired eyes with a yawn.

It's been like this for weeks. That same nightmare... it won't. Go. Away.

I look to my left at my clock on my bedside table.

'9:37 am'

"UgggggGGHHH stupid alarm not going off on time... of course I'm late!" I sit up again. This time turning so my feet dangle off the bed.

"Well... at least I got all my files done... so I shouldn't be in to much trouble..." I just sit for a moment before finally getting out of bed. I head for the bathroom taking a quick shower and getting changed. Nothing fancy, just a sweater and jeans. I rush to the kitchen being greeted by my sleepy black cat basking in the sunlight.

"Good morning Shadow. Mamas got to get to work now so you be a good kitty and watch the house while I'm gone okay?" She only stares back at me, blinking slowly.

"Good girl." I praise while petting her, she meows contently before she rests her head down and sleeps. I smile before I grab my purse and car keys along with an apple, eating it as I head out the door my front door, locking it and heading to my car. By the time I get there I've already finished my apple.

"Alright... time to get to work." I mumble as I start the car and get to driving. I know I should be quick, but driving is always so relaxing for me. I can't help but enjoy it and take my time. To have the window all the way down and feel the wind in my hair. It never gets old. Not a lot of people drive anymore, all I see is the self driving cars and taxis. Most of Detroit don't understand the freedom of driving, and I'm so happy I do.

I drive past all the old houses, they're falling apart. Detroit's planning to bulldoze them all and make new ones. I feel bad. The houses seem so out of place, so old and the people living in them are just getting by.  I shake my head before I see the newer houses. So big, so advanced and so expensive. I drive past Lafayette Avenue, some of the most beautiful houses you'll ever see. I know someone who lives here actually. Now that I think about it, it's been a while maybe I should visit them quickly.

'Ahh, a little detour never hurt anybody.' So that settles it. I slow the car down making a quick U-turn and driving down Lafayette Avenue.

I stop in front of what I would say is the most beautiful house on the block,
8941 Lafayette Avenue.
