It was 5:00 in the morning , when Ria was still sound asleep , and Rita awoke with a startle , only to see that it was just a bump in the road . She could hear her mother talking over the phone , "Oh , ok ,ok ".
" Ma , whom were you talking to ? " asked Rita
" Oh just the doctor , he says it's nothing to worry about just a minor heart - attack , also your dad was so anxious last night that he couldn't even sleep ! "
" What are you two talking about ? " , asked Ria , rubbing her eyes " is grandpa ok ?" she asked worriedly
" Ma said that he's totally fine and that there is nothing to worry about " , said Rita assuringly
" Phew what a relief !" said Ria
" And where's Samarth ? " asked Rita
" Well , he is with your dad , in the other cabin "
" Oh , ok " said Rita
" Alright " said Mrs.Kumar looking outside the window and at her watch , " We must be near the house by now , so hurry up and pick your bags "
While packing their bags , Rita was busy writing down their journey in her travel book/journal. " Couldn't you write when we were travelling ? ' asked Ria " I fell asleep okay !" said Rita in anger. " Woah ,woah calm down ."
When they arrived at the house , Rita said " I'll just write the rest at grandpa's house " she said to herself .
Samarth was still a bit sleepy as he had to wake up early , but as soon as they got down they smelt the fresh air and the bird's twitter , it was like their grandpa's house had a whole different environment , and all their old and precious memories came rushing back like a blissful wave just washed over them . As they entered they the premises , they saw Rahul anna , who was 17 years old , as their family was poor in community , and his family needed money really badly , so grandpa decided to give them jobs , to look after the garden of course , as he was getting old . Rahul anna was just 12 grade , so it was of great help to him and especially for his education too . now he has finished his board exams , scored the top rank and got a scholarship for one of the top colleges .
" Oh , hello ! children , long time no see ! "
" Rahul anna !" said Ria excitedly
" Hi Rahul anna ! " said Rita
" hello Rahul " said Mr.Kumar
" Hi Baccha* ! " said Mrs . Kumar
(* Baccha means kiddo or kid in hindi )
" Hi Rahul anna ..." said Samarth sleepily
" So where is grandpa ? " asked Ria
" Oh he's just gone to the market to get some supplies " said Rahul anna
" Supplies ? " asked Rita and Ria at the same time
" Oh shit ! I shouldn't have said that ! " said Rahul in regret and shock
" Ummm .... grandpa does know that Rahul anna is kind of terrible at keeping secrets , no offence , Right ? " said Ria suspiciously
" Hey !.... oh alright , maybe I am " said Rahul
" That means .... maybe it is a surprise that we should figure out ! " said Ria
" Yeah why else would he give it to Rahul anna ? " said Rita chuckling , everyone else chuckled too
" Alright , I get it , I'm bad at keeping secrets , can we stop talking about it now ?
" Ok , Ok fine " said Ria smiling
" So why did grandpa give you the secret ? " said Samarth joining in
" Samarth ! from when did you join in ? " asked Ria surprised
" Just now " said Samarth
" So , you finally told them , eh ? " came a familiar voice from the other side of the garden
" GRANDPA !!" said Samarth , Rita , Ria at the same time
" Now we have to go to the center of the maze ?! " said Mr.Kumar , shocked
" Don't worry dad , me and Rita know the maze inside out ! " said Ria assuringly
" Are you sure ? " asked Mrs.Kumar worridley
" Don't worry Sumitra , they can easily guide their way through it , they have gone through it many times !" said grandpa excitedly
So of they went in the maze , but they did carry some snacks too as last time they went , they were starving when they reached the center . They even carried some water .
after an half an hour they finally reached the center of the maze
" Ah ! there you guys are ! " exclaimed grandpa
" Woahhhhhhhhhhh" said both Ria and Rita both in shock and surprise
