CHAPTER 7
(In the Warehouse)
-Ryuu's POV-
Derek had instructed us to carry the three that were laying on the ground back at the McCall home, I carried Kenna, Boyd carried Isaac and Derek carried Erica.
I had told the others I would watch the three, Derek left to go somewhere without a word and Boyd had stayed by Erica while I went to tend to Kenna's wound.
"B-Boyd..." I heard a soft voice whisper causing me to turn to the source to see Erica looking up at Boyd from the couch.
"Hey, are you alright? You got nicked by the Kanima" he said as I pulled a pillow from my bag and handed it to him as he propped it under her head.
"Oh, yeah I'll be okay but I think I might rest if that's okay" she sighed as hair fell in her face and she was unable to move it, "Oh uh ....could you maybe um-" Erica said before he cut her off tucking the strands behind her ear.
"Goodnight Erica" he smiled as she closed her eyes with a rosy colour tinting her cheeks.
Turning back to Isaac and Kenna who were sleeping on the floor on the rug where I had left them, Pulling out blankets I placed one over Isaac and heat packs around Kenna.
"How many times are you going to keep letting yourself get hurt Kenna" I sighed running a hand through my hair.
Reaching over I picked up what I needed from my bag and shuffled closer to her back, grabbing a pair of scissors I cut open the back of her shirt. Guiding a blade around the arrow, I carefully cut the wound open and began to move the arrow out of her back.
"What do you mean she let herself get hurt?" I heard Boyd from my side.
"Kenna... is advanced enough to know most of her surroundings, we both are but Kenna makes choices to put herself at a higher risk by focusing fully on her targets and only her targets" I frowned as I dropped the arrow head on the ground.
"Why?" he said with a confused expression.
"It really isn't my place to say but what I can tell you is that something happened and she takes an insane amount of guilt for it" I continued as I watched her back heal up.
"Do you think she will open up to someone someday?" Boyd questioned as he moved to the other couch.
"I hope so" I sighed then putting a loose shirt on her before moving a blanket over Kenna.
"You two will be fine" I smiled as I pulled out a pillow and blanket before laying next to the couches as my eyelids grew heavy.
(The next morning)
- Kenna's POV -
Waking up on the stone floor was not something I wanted, especially with people sleeping everywhere yet it was amusing seeing everyone's sleeping faces. Standing up I grabbed my bag and walked into my carriage to change into a black shirt and black pants.
