CHAPTER 9
-Kenna's POV-
Shifting my body I felt the cold floor that I slept on, opening my eyes I frowned in confusion until the events of last night came back to me.
'Erica!'
Whipping my head around I looked up towards Erica's bed to find it empty.
'Shit! shit! shit!'
"Erica?!" I panicked jumping up frantically looking around the empty carriage, snatching my bag and the blanket that was on my legs.
'Wait....I never had a blanket when I went to sleep'
Brushing off the thought I wrapped the blanket around my torso and ran out into the warehouse looking for my blonde friend.
"Kenna? Kenna calm down I'm right here." Erica said rushing over to me from the boys who were scattered across our makeshift lounge with Boyd who was sitting near Erica, Ryuu floating further away and Isaac on a crate nearby.
"Oh thank god" I pulled her into a tight hug before pushing her away and slapping her arm, "Don't scare me like that Blondie, not cool" I said as I pouted.
"Sorry chicka, so what's with the blanket? I don't remember you having that on your bed when I've visited" she questioned as I lifted the oddly familiar blanket to my nose.
Sniffing the blanket the scent of ash mixed another faint scent hit my nose like a wave, memories flooded through my head of nights in the hale house. Nights of chasing Derek with my adoptive uncle through the preserve as a small girl, stealing food off the bench after Talia made treats and running to curl up and eat it, Peter reading me stories by the fireplace and wrapping me in his blanket.
'It's Peter's blanket...'
A soft smile crept onto my face as I hugged myself tighter into the blanket, I spent the most of my time with Peter and he will always be close to my heart and one of my favorites in the Hale household. Since I never got along with any of the females except for Talia, I spent my time with Derek and Peter.
A loud cough drew everyone's attention to the new presence in the room.
"That was me....I was able to grab it during the fire and I figured you would want it since well the fire couldn't kill you, anyway you were turning blue again when I went in to check on you" Derek sighed as he walked over giving me a pat on the shoulder.
"Thanks" I chuckled scratching the back of my neck feeling really stupid for forgetting.
"Blue?"
"So that's why it smells like smoke"
"I'm sorry she was what?!"
"How did I forget about that?"
Derek and I turned to the others who had approached and were now standing nearby minus Ryuu who was still floating in the air.
