“Drivers.. START! YOUR! ENGINES!”

The engines weren't very loud as they were only gokarts. The people driving them were louder.

It didn't matter, really, as I couldn't concentrate either way. After seeing (Y/n) be so.. dominant, my head was.. pretty clouded.

Thoughts came and went, and ever minute or so, I had to readjust my pants. It was starting to get embarrassing.

Not to mention, (Y/n)'s little touched every now and then.

She grasped the back of my shirt, scratching me barely. I wouldn't have paid attention to it, if it hadn't been that I'd been wearing a jacket.

Her hands were warm. I found myself leaning towards her every moment I could. Her soft blushes helped, too.

She was adorable. Mischievous, but adorable.

“Colby, you good?” Sam's hand wove in front of my face. I blinked and shook my head.

“Yeah, yeah, no, I'm fine. Just uh, ahem..”

Sam tilted his head, “dude. Really? What happened after we left the mall?”

“Uhm- well- uh.. I uh... we might have. kissed..” I turned away from (Y/n) and Elton to whisper. Sam's eyes winded a little as he smiled.

“Wait.. for real? Like actually? You actually kissed? Dude, I'm happy for you! Are you gonna, ya know, date?”

“Well, I mean, yeah, I want to. I just..”
My glanced over at (Y/n) as she smushed cotton candy into Elton's face. I smiled.

“You just haven't found the balls to ask her.” He finished my sentence. I nodded and held my jacket closer.

“You just gotta go for it, dude. The way she looks at you- dude, Colby. She likes you. A lot. She flirts with you and-and, you guys hang out a lot. I mean, I thought you two were already in that almost-dating stage. You guys went on a date and made cookies together.”

“I– I just don't wanna mess it up.. you know? I don't wanna possibly ruin things.” I scratched my neck.

Sam sighed heavily, “Did she also you after you kissed?”

“No-

Did she spit at you or cuss you out or stomp on your foot? Did she key your car?”

“I– no, not at all b–”

“Then stop making excuses and ask her out!” Sam pushed me towards (Y/n). I caught my balance right in front of her and smiled.

She smiled back before offering some snacks. “No thank you, I had plenty at the diner."

“That's fair. I'm still surprised you haven't thrown up or shi–”

“WOAAAHHHH, HEEEYYYYY!!”

I turned to see Corey making his way over. While smiling, I met him halfway and gave him a hug.

Before we knew it, we had made our way over to the track and actually stood in line.

(Y/n) was talking with Corey and asking how Devyn was when her hand grasped mine. I squeezed her hand and leaned in a bit closer, but not too close that it'd be suspicious. Or.. something.

We showed the worker our wristbands then were shown the karts. He instructed that while it was, indeed, gokarts, to try not to hit each other.

“It's not bumper cars,” he droned on.

“Must not like his job,” (Y/n) leaned in and whispered before catching my gaze and walking away. She climbed into a (insert coloured kart) and I found myself choosing the yellow beside her.
