I woke up with my head pounding, and my arm felt like it was going to fall off. I groaned and put my unharmed arm to my aching head “That sucked!” I whispered to myself. I was stabbed last night, again. The same thing happened this time too, I was walking home and some creepy came up to me and shanked me, but this time I was awake to fell the man press a cold glass vile to my wound, and take the blood that was dripping from my arm.

There was a tapping at the window, and I turned quickly. I saw a familiar face at the window, and I smiled and waved him in. “Hey Harlow.” Peter said as he climbed through the 3rd story window.

“Peter, why are you climbing through the window?” I hoarsely chuckled as he finally got on the ground.

“It’s not visiting hours, and I wanted to come and see you.” He said back, and slowly walked to my bedside. He looked tattered and dirty his hair was in a mess and his clothes were all messed up. But he looked good….really good. “Anyways, I have something for you.” My heart fluttered, as he opened his backpack and pulled out a gorgeous bouquet of red roses.

“Aw Peter, they’re beautiful!” I smiled, and took the flowers in my arms, inhaling the deep rosy scent. Roses have always been my favorite flowers, but now that they were coming from him, they were even better.

“Yeah, they held up surprisingly well, too.” he chuckled, and sat at my bedside. I carefully put the flowers on the small table on the opposite side of my bed and turned to face him “How are you feeling?” he asked intently, and pushed his glasses up on his nose

“I’m fine actually, it hurts really bad to do anything, but most of the pain has gone away.” I shrugged, and my arm seared with pain again.

“That’s good.” Peter smiled, and grabbed my hand “But I came here mostly to say sorry. I’m sorry for being rude, and weird for these last few days, I’ve just been trying to wrap my head around what’s been going on lately…” his eyes were soft as he looked into mine, and I weakly smiled

“It’s fine. You didn’t really need to apologize for anything, it’s not like we’re-”

“Ms. Winters.” I turned around, and saw a tall man walking through the door, he was wearing scrubs like all of the hospital workers, but he didn’t look like a doctor. He had dark scruffy hair that looked like Peters, and had dark circles under his piercing blue eyes. And unless Dr.Howe went back in time and stayed up all night partying, this was not my doctor “We’re going to need to draw some blood.”

Me and Peter both looked at him like he was crazy, or stupid, or both. Our eyebrows were raised, and suddenly he became very fidgety and looked like he was going to throw up “Ummm, I came in here bleeding to death, I think that if you needed my blood you could’ve just taken some when I arrived.”

“Please don’t argue, Ms.Winters.” he snapped uneasily, and I was taken aback

“Just get Dr.Howe in here please, I would prefer to talk to him.” I replied, and clenched my fists. This guy is a real idiot if he thinks he can waltz in here and stab me in the arm with a needle

“Dr.Howe isn’t in today.” The man replied, and came closer to me with a needle and a syringe in hand. “Just sit still, and let me draw some of your blood to make sure you’re not infected.”

“You stitched up my arm, of course it’s not infected! And if you really wanted to see, you could’ve take some when you were sowing me up!” I shouted, and put my arms to my chest, tightly hugging myself so he wouldn’t touch me with that needle of his.

“Ms.Winters, I’m afraid I must insist!” The man tried to grab my arm, but I tightened the grip around myself and screamed. Peter stood up and tried to pry the man off me, shouting and screaming at him to get off. The man was furious and snarling, he refused to let go. He kept pulling at me, and I continued to scream, but no one came to help me. The man drew back his arm, and forcefully put it into my arm, and pulled out my blood into the syringe. A blood curdling scream emitted from my mouth, and Peter was seething with anger. He finally got the man off of me, and punched him square in the jaw.

The man stumbled back, but didn’t loose his footing. “Thanks for the co-operation Ms.Winters, your blood in dually appreciated!” the man snarled, and ran to the window and jumped out, the same way Peter came in.

“What the hell?!” I shouted, and tried to get up from my bed, by my body ached with immense amounts of pain.

Peter ran towards the window, and he looked over the edge, like he was going to jump out

“Don’t jump Peter, you’re going to kill yourself!” I shouted after him, and all he did was pull his tan jacket and throw it one the floor.

“I’ll get him Harlow, don’t worry.” He snarled, and pulled off his shirt. I expected to see his bare skin, but all that was there was a skin-tight red and blue suit. No…He can’t be! I thought to myself, and put my hands to my temples. What the devil is going on here?! I mentally screamed as Peter pulled off the rest of his clothes, and put the mask over his head. I could hear him talking in my head now, and it made perfect sense. Peter Parker was Spiderman

“Peter, what’s going on?” I shouted before he could jump out the window

“I don’t know, but I’m going to find out.” he said back, and climbed down from the window and walked towards me. “Don’t go anywhere, just stay here and I’ll be back.”

“But Peter, he’s going to kill you!” I replied, and threw my arms around his neck. Him being Spiderman wasn’t my main concern right now, though my head was buzzing with questions about his alter ego.

“Don’t worry, I’ve been doing this for a while.” Peter put his gloved hand on my cheek, and I felt the coldness of the spandex cool my cheeks. “I’m going to protect you, you don’t ever have to worry about me.” he put his forehead on mine, and took off his mask “I would never leave you.” Peter whispered seductively, and I my stomach did flips along with my heart pounding in my chest. There was a small gap between our faces, and I felt his warm breath caress my cheek.

“I would never want you too.” I replied, and he chuckled “Be careful, okay?” He nodded, and smiled

“After you’re better, want to go get some coffee?” He asked, and I smiled back

“Me, get coffee with Spiderman? I guess I can manage.” I shrugged, and he laughed

“Good.” Peter said softly, and stroked my face with his hand “I really want to kiss you now.”

My stomach felt like it was going to fall out of my mouth, and my heart was beating so fast it seemed like it was going to explode in my chest “Me too.” I said back, and he leaned in, closing his eyes. I did the same, waiting for our lips to meet. Suddenly, I felt something warm and soft on my lips, and I knew it was his. My heart skipped a beat, and I felt a electric shock run through my body.

He pulled away, slowly and reluctantly “I should probably go after the bad guy now.” Peter chuckled, and I laughed lightly. “I’ll be back, don’t worry.” he added, as he made his way over to the window. Peter pulled on his mask, gave me one last nod, and swan dived out off the ledge.
