Fred was laying on his bed looking at Alice's Instagram post. His mind flashed back to the scene the photo showed of them kissing by the Great Lake. He couldn't put his finger on it but when they had kissed something had felt off. He shut off his phone and stared up at his dorm ceiling. He liked her so why should it feel weird when he kissed her.

Now that he thought about it this wasn't the first time that their kisses had felt off to him. They hadn't kissed much but every time it had happened something felt off for him. They were dating it should feel right when he kissed her, right? Now that he was thinking about it his mind just kept going. What felt wrong about kissing her? Did he even like her as more then a friend? He tried to think what it was that was wrong and why couldn't he just figure it out! Why did things have to be so hard?

The door of the dormitory opened and someone entered. He looked over and saw Liam walking across the dormitory towards him which wasn't an unusual occurrence even though Liam was a Slytherin. Liam had been showing up in the Gryffindor common room since first year because his friends were in Gryffindor so they often hung out there and his friends would just give him the password.

"Hey Fred there's a party happening in the room of requirement tonight and we were about to head over do you want to come?" asked Liam cheerfully.

"I guess," I said, faking a smile and standing up. My thoughts could wait until later. Maybe a party would clear my head or help me figure things out.

"Are you ok?" asked Liam. I should have known he would see right though my falsely cheerful tone and fake smile. He always had a way of knowing if I was upset.

"Yeah," I lied, hoping he would just drop it.

"I know you're lying but I'm not going to push you to talk about. If you ever need anything just know I'm here," he said with a smile. "Now let's go enjoy this party."

I hope that the actual writing was good. I plan to do it more throughout the story so you get a better look inside the characters thoughts. Let me know what you think.
