jisung wasn't home.
that, minho was sure of. as another chill breeze of air swept past him, minho shivered for the nth time in the past five minutes that he had been waiting for because, 9 rocks and a whole lot of shivering later, there still was no sign of jisung– not at his house at least.
in the past few hours, minho had gone from gay panicking over his conversation with jisung to just panicking because of jisung. with worry etched on his mind, minho hoped jisung was at the park– no, jisung HAD to be at the park.
with one last glance, minho finally let himself walk away, carefully crossing the road so he doesn't die before getting a chance to meet jisung.
the park was surprisingly empty, or maybe it wasn't a big surprise, considering how it was literally night. still, minho trudged around, looking around as his last resort.
the playgrounds around the park were empty, and if minho saw a swing swinging on it's own, he only decided to cowardly speed away.
further into the park, minho came to a stop, in front of him was a part of the park that seemed almost out of place. there was wooden flooring in between the heavy trees
and a small wooden table with a bench around it.
that's when he noticed the whiff of blue hair and there a small jisung was, with his face hidden behind his shaky hands.
before minho knew it, he was walking towards the latter. as he sat down on the cold bench beside jisung, he finally noticed all the tension clouding the younger.
jisung was crying, completely oblivious to minho's presence.
jisung sobbed into his hands; once, twice, and minho felt a twinge in his heart.
"hey sungie..." he whispered, letting his small hand rub circles comfortingly on the younger's back. he felt jisung freeze under his palm for a split second.
and when jisung looked up, minho swore he felt his heart break; shatter, at the sight before him.
jisungs devastating eyes were fogged with tears; some falling and some threatening to fall. they were stained with a painful redness and his eyelashes looked awkwardly clumped due to his salty tears.
"hyungie...t-they-" jisung stuttered,
"shh, just come here baby" minho whispered, shuffling towards and the younger slowly wrapped his arms around minho's neck, resting his face onto the crook of minho's neck.
he felt jisung's tears stain his shirt and as the said boys body trembled in his arms, minho wanted to do nothing but protect the delicate boy. minho tenderly ran his hand through his fluffy blue hair before reaching down to softly hold the younger's hand, squeezing it gently to remind him that minho was there for him by his side.
jisung's sobs were the most painful thing minho could have ever heard; they were all the residue of the false hope jisung had, filled to the brim with a disheartening emotion and an even gloomy feeling.
with a frown on his face, minho's held jisung's face in his hands, tearing jisung away from him.
he looked into the latter's eyes, using his thumb to wipe off the tears that dared to fall.
"please stop crying, bub. it's killing me to see you like this." minho let his emotions bloom into his words, speaking with a touch of gentle sincerity.
jisung blinked and with a pout and he grabbed minho's shirt, pulling him closer, on instinct minho wrapped his hands around jisung's jaist™ and realized the younger only wanted comfort.
that's when minho found himself appreciating the silence— with jisung's occasional sniffles. he let himself relish the moment; with jisung in his arms, the sheltering trees around them (minho felt like they shared a secret now, the trees being the only spectators they had.) and of course, the warmth that their bodies shared in the chill night.
jisung pulled away a few minutes later, much to minho's disappointment. he gazed at jisung as the boy looked up front at the white Heather's growing a few feet away from them.
jisung didn't say anything, only staring at the flowers and for a second, minho worried that the younger might have been mad because minho found him.
"how did you find me hyung?" jisung asked, his words laced with curiosity, contrary to what minho was expecting.
"felix told me that you might be here..." minho's voice was feeble, gentle even.
jisung only smiled in return and minho didn't know if he had done the right thing, at all.
"hyung, do you know what white Heather's symbolize?" the younger asked, a kind of rhetorical question because jisung answered it anyway,
"they symbolize protection."
so that's why this was jisung's safe place.
"I hate them so much." jisung sniffed and minho nodded in return, he didn't even need to ask who because in the end, there was only one answer; his parents.
"i l-left the house." jisung woefully whispered, like a secret that he wished even the trees didn't hear.
minho slipped his hand into jisung's and watched as jisung glanced at their intertwined hands, a small smile forming on his face.
"I didn't expect us to meet like this."
minho only scoffed.
when crisp whiff of wind blew past them and the leaves of the trees clattered against eachother,
minho stood up,
"let's go."
jisung looked up at him with glistening, tear stained cheeks and tilted his head in confusion before muttering, "where?"
"home. a real one. come with me, sungie."
jisung smiled at him,
under the shining stars, minho thinks jisung shone the brightest,
and in a field of angel's, minho realized that jisung could finally fly without the unbearable weight on his wings.
