Invaded

Chapter Five

My eyes scanned over the faces and met chocolate brown eyes staring back at me. I scanned her face and my eyes pricked with tears. My knees quivered and I gripped Gajeel's shoulder for support.

"L-levy?" The familiar voice met my ears as I stared into my best friends eyes. She stood from her seat and circles the table. My eyes were trained on her as she approached. "I thought you were dead." She said tearing up.

"L-lucy" I said breathless.

Here she was, it was unbelievable. She grasped my shoulders and pulled me into her chest. I found myself crying. Her head tucked into into my shoulder and the water of her eyes soaked through immediately. I wrapped my arms tightly around her. I had her again. I had someone.

"Luce, how do you know her?" Lucy pulled back keeping her arm around my shoulders.

"Natsu, this is my best friend." She said wiping her eyes. "I thought she died when she disappeared all these months." She gave a small smile and I wiped my eyes.

"Any friend of yours is a friend of mine, Luce." He smiled widely and turned his eyes to me. "You're the girl who came in with Gajeel!" He exclaimed, all I could do was nod hesitantly in response.

"So Levy, what have you been doing the past few months?" Lucy asked leaving my side and returning to Natsu's locking her fingers with his. I sat down next to Gajeel and took a breath.

"I was working with the government before the invasion, after it I hid in a bunker I worked in." I smiled slightly "I spent the past months designing weapons and training with them." Gajeel was focused on his food. "I was down there six months. Some idiot came into my bunker at dawn." I said teasingly

"I'm not an idiot." Gajeel grumbles

"No you aren't, but you are stupid enough to save my life." I smiled and looked at him

"It's not like you didn't return the favor, Shrimp." He muttered. I smiled and leaned slightly against him.

"Good thing I did. I don't know where I'd be without you, Gajeel." He looked away and wrapped an arm around my waist. I blushed a bit and Juvia let out a giggle.

"Juvia thinks Gajeel likes Levy." She said smiling and I blushed darker.

I focused on my food and watched Gajeel from the corner of my eye. He was munching on a large burger. I hesitantly munched on the warm nachos and let out an audible moan. Gajeels head jerked my way with a slight pink to his face. My eyes widened and I chewed hesitantly. He quickly turned back to his burger, his arm pulled me closer and I let out a squeak. His arm then wrapped around my neck loosely so he could eat with two hands. I blushed scarlet and began eating again.

"Gajeel, gather the forces, we're planning our attack." Erza said from behind us. She stomped off boots clanking.

Gajeel shoved the rest of his burger into his mouth and stood up. I ate my last nacho and he took my plate and disposed of it. He returned to my side and set a hand on my shoulder.

"All forces report to the battle room!" He bellowed
