A/N: In this story pala, Kyle and Janella grew up in the US. Half pinoy sila, they know a few tagalog in this story.

PS I have something for you in the notes! ;)

Kyle's POV

"Amboy?!" The girl in the register called me.

My head is still aching, and I don't really have the time to catch up.

"One grande Cafe Americano, to go." Ulit ko sa order ko. "Add 2 slices of Red Velvet loaf cake."

She nodded as she punches my orders to the register. I'm not sure why, but she looked tensed to me. I can see through my sunglasses that she is taking a quick glance at me once in a while.

I handed her the payment and headed straight to the claiming area.

Ate Janella asked me to get her a cake. This one's her favorite actually. I also grabbed a coffee for myself, since this kinda works for my hangover.

"One Grande Cafe Americano and Red Velvet loaf cake for--" The barista called my order but stopped right before the name, he looks confused while reading the name on my cup. I'm pretty sure that I said Kyle for the cup. Well, whatever.

"That's mine." I moved over to the counter. "Thanks." Sabi ko as I collect my orders.

I headed out of the cafe, and took a sip of my coffee. Then, I got curious on why the barista failed to say my simple name.

"AmBoy?" I thought to myself, a bit surprised on this name. "Who the hell names their kid as AmBoy?" I got really confused.

I wanted to return the orders, but I'm pretty sure that these are mine. Then I remembered when she called me AmBoy before taking my order.

I headed to my car where Ate Janella is waiting for me.

"Aww! Thanks, brother!" She sweetly smiled at me when I handed her the cakes.

"Hey, the other slice is mine." I joked, and she glared at me, pouting. "I'm kidding." I rose my hands mid-air as surrender.

We are on our way to spend the Saturday in Santa Monica Pier. This is how Ate and I bond every weekend, going to parks or beaches. Sanay na kami na kami lang ang laging magkasama sa ganito, kahit sa bahay. Minsan we invite a few friends, but today, we decided na kami lang. (A/N: yung book cover is sa Santa Monica Pier. Favorite ko sa US hehe.)

"Ate, why are heading to the beach again?" I asked Ate Janella, my eyes glued on the highway.

"Well, it's a weekend." She answered. "Also, I booked a house cleaning team to clean up the mess from last night. Mom and Dad are going home tonight from Texas."

Parents. Our parents are always on the business, here and there. Flights all the time. So, it's always me and Ate Janella. Kahit nung mga bata pa kami, we grew closer to our nannies than to our parents.

After parking the car, kinuha na ni Ate ang mga gamit namin sa trunk. We bought basket of foods, a blanket, and the beach essentials.

The beach is not that crowded today. At last, few people. Minsan, sumasakit na din ang ulo ko pag crowded ang isang lugar, I feel so irritated.

Ate Janella and I sat side by side as we gaze in the beach and sky. It will be sunset soon.

"What are you thinking, Ate?" I asked her, not removing my sight from the view.

"Hmm, wala naman." She tells me. "The nature is so pretty, no?"

"You always liked the beach." I tell her.
