Dylan's POV:
I grab a beer from the fridge and sit on the couch. I turn on the TV in order to break the silence.
Ever since my mother died, I've been living by myself and every day I get to see how empty my house is without her. My dad left when I was roughly six, leaving me and my mother alone.
When I turned 15, she developed breast cancer and soon we couldn't pay for her medication.
I couldn't take seeing her suffer like that, but I didn't have the money to pay for her. So one day, a guy named Rich found me in an alley and offered me a job. I didn't have any other choice and I would do anything for her.
I would deliver drug supplies to strangers and in return, I would get enough money to pay for my mother's therapies. I told her I got a job every time she wondered where I got that much money from but I never told her where.Until one day she passed away. I felt like my whole life had turned upside down. I was left alone in this world and my life was miserable.
I soon quited the job but every now and then Rich would appear and ask me to do his dirty work or else he would expose me to the police.
Soon I realised I couldn't be anywhere near friends or girlfriends because I knew that Rich wouldn't stop showing up and if I ended up in prison, I wouldn't want to hurt anyone I love.Which reminds me of the present. Where the fuck am I supposed to find that much money?
"Fuck!" I growl and the bottle of beer I was holding is now a million pieces and the wall is covered in beer.
But no matter Rich no matter what I said or felt, I couldn't help but think about her. Hailey. She was so special for me for some reason and I felt the need to protect her at all costs. How the hell am I supposed to stay away from her?Hailey's POV:
It's my first college party tonight. I've never been to one before yet I've heard the craziest stories about them. I can't help but feel a little anxious. My friends will come pick me up in a bit so I finish my make up. I'm wearing a black short dress and high heels.
Suddenly I hear a honk and I hurry down the stairs. I grab my bag and leave the house. Inside the car are my two best friends. Mia and Stacey. The one driving and one on the passenger's seat.
"BUCKLE UP!" Stacey yells and I pull my seat belt but it is stuck. Shit.
"Too lateeee" Mia yells and leave on full speed causing me to become one with the seat. This is going to be a long ride.
