When I got back, Kirstie was standing there with a smile on her face, although I could tell that it wasn't a true one.

"What took you so long babe?" She said, kissing my cheek.

"Nothing really, I just had to move a few of them away from the gates. It happens occasionally." I lied, and I could tell that she didn't believe me. However, she didn't say anything about it.

"Eugh I can't wait till we're married. We can finally have sex."

I looked at her, completely shocked at what she had just said.

"You do realise lusting is a sin right, Kirstie? Is that all our marriage means to you? Did you mean that?"

"What? No, of course not, I was joking, silly Mitchy."

"Right well I'll see you later" I said, not really convinced, and not happy with the tone she was using.

"Oh, where are you going?" She asked, smiling at me, although the smile didn't meet her eyes.

"By the gate.. Y'know.. To do my job, the thing I do every day..."

"Oh, yeah, of course, silly me" She said, laughing nervously. "See you later"

I flew over to my post, where I looked out over the gate to check nobody was coming in or out of them.

I don't know why, but I started thinking about that blonde demon I saw when I was by the fire. I felt something for him, I just didn't know what it was yet, and it scared me.

I shook away my thoughts, and just reminded myself that I was getting married soon, to one of my best friends, with my other best friend Kevin as my best maid (it's gender neutral) and it was all going to be perfect.

Or was it?
