Subhadra smiled as she looked at her best friend, who sat on her bed playing with a giggling Abhimanyu, three days had passed since the punishment of guru Mata, the woman was given a life time imprisonment. And for that Subhadra was glad, she looked at her friend and son playing they looked so adorable together, “Mata this is not fair, why does the bride have to cry when she leaves her house?” He whined as he moved his doll to the toy palanquin, “Because she is leaving her father’s house and going dear.” Panchaali explained with a smile, “Did you cry too mata?” He asked as he looked up at his mother, Panchaali smiled as she faked a thinking look, “Hm let me think? Did I cry? Oh, yea I cried a lot, I didn’t want to leave but your pitashree and uncles just wouldn’t listen he pulled me down from the mandap and brought me here.” She said with a fake sadness, “He brought you here while you were crying? When you didn’t want to leave mata?” He asked angrily, Panchaali and Subhadra shared an amused look as they bit back a smile. “Yes putr, your father did same to me, we wanted to stay in Dwarka but they got us here.” Subhadra played along, her voice laced with mock sadness, “How dare pitashree force my matas!!!!” The two-year-old shouted furiously, Panchaali and Subhadra wanted to laugh, Arjun was about to get fried for something he never did. Good, the man deserved it, he hadn’t been giving time to any of them, day and night work, what about family time? Was work so important that one forgot their wives and child?
Panchaali looked at Subhadra, a silent communication passing between the two, they smirked as mischief lit their eyes. “I want pitashree to answer!” He fumed, Abhimanyu got up from the bed and marched out of the room angrily, the two finally let their laughter loose, he looked so adorable, so cute. His little white face getting all red with anger like a tomato. He was such an adorable baby, the two got up and they followed him. Abhimanyu entered the study, where his uncles, fathers and aunts as well as cousins were present.
“Pitashree!” The little boy shouted angrily as he entered in making the everyone looked up at him, Arjun turned towards the door from the bookshelf that he had been facing, his eye brow raising in question as he watched his son’s face turn red. “How could you?!” His little voice came out shrill with anger, amusement filled the elders, as they looked the little angry prince. “What happened Jyest?” Niramaitr, Nakul’s first born questioned as he looked at his furious elder brother, “You wouldn’t believe what happened!” Abhi stated, “Tell us jyest what is wrong!” Suhotr, Sehdev’s eldest asked, “Our pitashrees forced mata Panchi during their wedding to come here when she was crying and wanted to stay in Panchal! And same thing Pitashree did with mata subhu!” The little Abhi growled angrily, “PITASHREEEEEE!!!” Five little boys shouted making the pandavas gulp, for the first time Bheem was glad that Ghatotkach was grown up. He bit back a laugh as he watched his five brothers gulp, “Putr it is not like that...” Dharmraj was cut off by his angry son, “Was my mata crying when you got her from Panchal?” Yaudhey demanded as he looked at his father, “Yes she was but it was...” He was cut off by his son again, “She was crying! CRYINGGGGGG!! Couldn’t you let her be there one more day!!” He demanded making Yudhisthir cringe, how the hell does one reply to questions like this? “You pitashree! How could you?! Mata was crying!!! And you brought her here! How could you separate mata from her parents?!” Vrishsen fumed, Karn raised his hand in surrender, he was at loss of words, what the hell was he supposed to say? Panchaali had put them in a sticky situation, he had to give it to her, she was a freaking genius when it came to organizing pranks.
“Pitashree why did you get mata here the same day when she was crying?!” Suhotr growled at Sehdev, who for the first time at the loss of words, “It’s the custom, for the bride to come to her husband’s place on the same day of marriage.” Nakul bluffed, “So the mighty six kings couldn’t change the custom for their crying wife?! Our mata!!” Shouted Niramaitr, “We could technically...” Sehdev began, “Then why didn’t you?!” Abhimanyu demanded, stomping his foot on the ground angrily, the five pandavas looked at their wives who were laughing and giggling, Bheem was rolling on the ground with his chuckles. “Panchaali!” Karn called, wishing that his wife would get him out of this mess.
Draupadi entered with Subhadra, their faces were expressionless while their eyes were lit with humor. Panchaali looked at her husbands, “What happened arya? Is something wrong?” She teased as she looked at everyone, the pandavas squinted their eyes in accusation while she smiled innocently, like she wasn’t even aware of what was happening, from with in she was cracking up like a mad woman, who had fallen into a laughing fit. “So, you don’t know what is happening here?” Arjun asked sarcastically, “Did you hear something Subhi?” Panchaali pretended as though she couldn’t hear Arjun, “Nope, I think you are imagining stuff.” Subhadra played along; her voice sounded bored but from with in he was jumping in excitement. After what seemed like forever, she was playing a prank. “dear let your fathers alone, they are all busy. There is no point in discussing this, it’s done and it’s not like they will let me go to Panchaal for three weeks.” Panchaali said as she picked up Abhimanyu and guided the others, the pandavas eyes widened, what the heck, they exactly knew what she was doing, she wanted to spend time in Panchaal and she knew very well they wouldn’t allow. They knew they should let her go, after all since their wedding she hasn’t returned to Panchaal once or Dwarka for that matter, but they just can’t let her go. Indraprasth without Panchaali would mean nothing, three weeks without Panchaali??? The idea in itself was absurd, three weeks were way too long, heck one day was way too long, they can’t be away from her for so long.
“Of course, they will mata!” Vrishsen stated, “Yes they will, they will let you go to Panchaal!” Stated Yaudhey, Panchaali smiled, “You will arya?” She asked, her voice teasing as she looked at the six, the pandavas shared a look, what sort of trouble had they put themselves in? They looked at their glaring sons to their very amused wife, who winked at them as a mischievous smile spread on her face. “Okay we will let her go, if you all agree. You know your Mata leaving means you won’t be able to see her for three weeks.” Karn began, a smirk on his face as amusement sparked in his eyes, her smile vanished as she looked at her husband who was ready to defeat her in her own prank. “Which means no stories by mata Panchi every night.” Yudhisthir played along, “No food made by mata Panchi for next three weeks.” Bheem added, “No nighttime cuddles with mata Panchi for three weeks.” Arjun reminded, “Mata Panchi won’t be there to wake you every morning and help you get ready for next three weeks.” Nakul added, “And all the other activities that you do with your mata will be gone for three weeks. You won’t be able to see or talk to your mata for the next three weeks, now if after all this you are ready than sure your mata can go.” Sehdev stated, he smirked as he watched the children’s eyes widen as they all looked at each other, if this kids loved one person more than their life it was Panchaali, the pandavas knew very well that no way in heaven are their kids going to get convinced for this, their smirks widened as they watched their sons’ shake their heads negatively before they all turned around and ran out of them room, Panchaali called their names but all in vain, they didn’t stop. She sighed as she looked at her husbands and sighed, there goes her plan of getting permission to visit Panchaal.
“Jiji…” Panchaali began trying to at least get them on her side but they all left with Subhadra, traitors! Everyone of them, no one was supporting the innocent her, she huffed as she stormed out of the study leaving behind six chuckling men. . .***
