Part 15 : Priority

It was a rainy day.Rain clouds had spread over the sky,making everywhere dull and dark.As the day became colder,Khushi dressed Arush in woollen sweatpants and hoodies.Khushi had just finished teaching in her online drawing class.Yes,Khushi had been giving online classes in drawing for about a month now.Before,Arush's birth she was working as the drawing teacher in a school here in Lucknow,she had also took drawing classes on weekends;students loved her class and there were about 50 students in her weekend drawing class,a job that she loved so much and recently she had started online drawing classes.The nine months that she had spent in Lucknow made Khushi realise the importance of financial independence in her life.The drawing classes she taught earlier did help Khushi to gather a healthy amount of savings and she bought a new laptop and the other required items for the online class from it.She had also bought some clothes for Arush from online and she was proud as well as happy when she made Arush wear the dresses that she purchased.

She mainly took the classes after noon and late evening,those would be the times when Arush usually sleeps.One day,as she was preparing to begin the evening session of her drawing class,Arush got up from his sleep and was really cranky.Though she tried to make him sleep,he didn't budge and kept on crying.Arnav,who was back from office sometime before,came out from the bathroom after shower just then.Khushi did not inform Arnav personally about her online class as she didn't feel the need for it; she believed that he would ask her not to think about anything as he was there to look after them and just concentrate on Arush.But surprising her completely,Arnav came to her and took Arush in him arms.

"Aru,come with Papa.Let Mumma finish her classes..", he paused,looked at Khushi

"Just concentrate in your classes,Khushi.I will look after Arush till then.",said Arnav gently with a smile and moved out of the room with Arush leaving an astounded Khushi.

Khushi who never expected such a response from Arnav,was astonished.From that day onwards it almost became a routine that if Arush is not asleep at evening,Arnav would take him to the living room before Khushi's class starts and would come back to the room only after the class finishes.

Khushi was brought back to present when Payal came inside their room.

"Evening chai is ready Khushi.I had come to call you half an hour back,but you were giving your online classes then.Come down and have the tea,Khushi.Let me spend some time with my Aru till then."Payal said while taking Arush in her arms.

"Masi's Aru is up!Does Aru know how long your Masi was waiting to play with him?Come on Aru,let us go downstairs."Payal crooned to the baby in a childlike voice.

Khushi was having her tea at the dining table,Payal was also sitting there with Arush.The calling bell rang just then and Jaya hurried to open the door.As expected by Khushi,Arnav and Aakash had returned back from office.Arnav's eyes immediately started to search the love of his life and he gave a lovely smile when he saw her sitting at the dining table,looking at him.Khushi immediately averted her eyes when her eyes met Arnav's.He came to her and since Payal too was sitting there,Khushi had to ask him, "How was your day?" like a loving wife.

"Tideous.But it is good now.",replied Arnav with a mischievous smirk which left Payal grinning and Khushi flustered.

"I will quickly get fresh and come.",Arnav told and left to their room.

He came exactly after 10 minutes with a folder in his hand,which he placed on the table and sat near Khushi.Aakash too came after a couple of minutes and Jaya brought tea for Aakash and sugarless coffee for Arnav.
