December finally had rolled around. The trees began to lose their warm auburn colors, and naturally couples were roaming the streets, out on romantic dates or buying gifts for their loved ones. "A magical month December is" Rima chimed out brightly. Her voice was lively and warm compared to the playful bickers Renjun and Jeno were throwing at each other. Ji Eun however has busy spacing out along the street, observing the festive christmas decorations and joyful people passing by. Jeno noticed the girl's slow pace and turned around halfway making sure she was still with the rest of the group.
Renjun noticed Jeno staring at the girl, and nudged him playfully "Don't look at her like that. Jaemin's going to kill you". Jeno scoffed "Look my ass Renjun, you're the one with the whole anime boy persona". Renjun looked at the taller boy in distaste "I do not. I have no idea what you're talking about". Jeno shook his head sighing "Rima doesn't Renjun remind you of an anime boy?"
"Its his hair. Definitely his hair." Rima responded, her mind still fantasizing about Christmas eve and its wonderful memories. "Do you like it though?" Renjun intervened suddenly. Ji Eun had caught up to the rest of the group now, and was listening silently to the group of juniors talking about the oldest boy's hair. "I like it." Ji Eun murmured under her breath, as she intended, the fifteen year old's incoherent comments remained unheard to the other three who were cheerfully laughing.
"Guys why don't we split up into pairs and go christmas shopping! I don't know about you guys. But I still have some gifts to pick out." The older girl admitted, a slight embarrassment in her tone. "why not?" Ji Eun shrugged and looked over at the other two trying to read their reactions.
"Ok so its jeno and me, and Ji En and Renjun then?" Renjun gave a quick smile "I'm down. so let's meet here in...?" Ji Eun shrugged "How about an hour?" Jeno nodded checking the time on his watch "Okay we'll meet up here then" He gave one last glance to the freshman before turning back towards Rima and walking away to another store with her.
Renjun looked over at Ji Eun curiously "Any idea on where we should go?" the fifteen year old gave a slight nod "I do. But I'm pretty much done Christmas shopping so we could just look for stuff you need?" Renjun sighed "Thank god. you really are the best Ji Eun. I was so scared I wouldn't be able to find a gift for Rima. Thank you so-" "Its fine." Ji Eun cut the boy off before he could say anything more. It pained her that her crush liked someone else. The least she could do was make him happy.

"How about this one?" Ji Eun pointed to a small jewelry box on the shelf, it was a silver rectangle covered in small engraved roses. Renjun walked towards the girl upon seeing her pointing to the object. He leaned over her back to look closely at the object, unaware of the small distance between the two "D-do you like it?" Ji Eun stuttered in between in words she was close enough to smell the boy's cologne. "I do like it" He was smiling. Even if she couldn't see his face behind her, she knew he had a beautiful smile across his face.
"And Rima will like it even more." those words snapped Ji Eun out of her trance. The smile that was beginning to form on her lips disappeared. She turned around suddenly and faced renjun despite the small space between them. She was now face to face with her crush. Their faces nearly touching "What did you get me?" the fifteen year old's face was serious, and for a second Renjun glanced down at her lips. "Its a secret." Ji Eun's lips formed a small pout "Tell meee" Renjun moved backwards now giving the girl some space, he scrunched his nose smiling sweetly "You're cute Na Ji Eun. I've never met anyone like you."
"Shut up Renjun. Go to the counter I'll come in a few minutes." Ji Eun muttered bitterly. Her face was beet red because of the boy's sudden comment, and she was determined on not letting the seventeen year old find out. Renjun scoffed "Yes ma'am, would you like some salt to go with your attitude?" Ji Eun patted him on his shoulder giving him an apologetic smile "Sorry". He smiled back "Let's go?". Ji Eun nodded silently following behind the boy, unaware of the small necklace the boy was holding.
