School started up again, the longest break of the year was finally over. Ji Eun was sitting in her usual spot in her classroom, going through her notes one last time before the test papers would be passed out. Unlike her, however, most of the class was leisurely talking about their break. They talked about the many changes over the break. Not much changed for Ji Eun, excluding the ridiculous idea of helping her crush date her friend.
"Na Ji Eun?" Ji Eun turned around in her seat upon hearing her voice trying to identify the source until her eyes landed on a girl. It was that Ji Eun wouldn't usually talk to, it was Kim Areum "Yes?". They gave a small smile "Do you have a boyfriend?" the Ji Eun was silent. "It doesn't seem so." She shrugged "One of my friends was interested in you if you're willing to give him a chance maybe you two will hit it off".
Ji Eun thought about the offer for a moment. If she had no chance with Renjun, why rule out other boys. Maybe she would like the boy Areum mentioned "Sure, I guess. But I still don't know who it is." Ji Eun replied, her tone was calm despite the sudden excitement rising in mind. "Kim Hyun-Tae. The sophomore? He's on the basketball team." Ji Eun gave a small nod, remembering the familiar name. However, she hadn't seen him around much during the school year. But she had heard Chenle and Jisung mentioning the male once or twice.
"I'll introduce you two to each other at lunch today. Is that okay?" Areum smiled down at the girl patting her back. Her smile seemed almost angelic, but fake. Ji Eun should've known better than to trust someone she barely knew, yet she did it anyway. All in the hopes of moving on from her first love.

Lunch had arrived sooner than expected. however, Ji Eun was still anticipating the end of the day. The feeling of being home for the break was taking a toll on her and wished nothing more than to be sleeping in peace from the comfort of her bed. She sauntered lazily through the hallways, not paying attention to the other excited teenagers passing by. By now, Ji Eun's mind had completely forgotten her conversation with her classmate from the morning.
The freshman arrived at the lunchroom still consumed in her thoughts, she was greeted by Rima's distant wave. She smiled back walking towards the table, however, she was stopped in the middle by a tall boy. Possibly Jaemin's height she assumed. "He smiled, I'm Hyun-tae, Areum told you about me right?". Ji Eun's mouth formed an 'O' shape in realization "Ahh, yeah. Nice to meet you. I'm Ji Eun." the younger girl glanced behind the boy at her group of friends who visibly confused with her interaction with the boy. Donghyuck mouthing a "You know him?" at the girl. Jeno however had eyes fixated on the tall man, a small annoyance visible in his expression.
"I don't think you have my number right? I was hoping we could get to know each other more" Hyun-tae suggested. He pulled his phone out of his uniform pocket, holding it out for the girl to put in her phone number. Chenle's jaw dropped at the sight, Jeno was getting quite agitated and it was obvious from his tight grip on his spoon. Luckily for him though, Jisung was the only one that had noticed.
Ji Eun gave a convincing smile before typing her number into the phone. She glanced one last time at the group, focusing on her crush this time. It seemed Renjun could care less. He was busily conversing with Rima, a wide smile across his face. The freshman gave a slight scoff at the sight continuing to talk to the boy. "Do you want to sit with us?" Hyun-tae said pointing to his table. Ji Eun looked over in the direction earning a wave from Areum, and a few other kids whom she had seen around. All of them were freshmen or sophomores, unlike her own friend group.
"Yeah. I guess I will." The younger girl nodded hesitantly. She looked over at her friends. They were all focused on talking to each other or eating. "They wouldn't mind" She smiled before walking towards his table with Hyun-Tae.
Jeno, however, felt like he had lost the one war that was worth fighting for in his eyes.
