It was the fourth time this week, the week was nearly over. But not once did Ji Eun turn back around to the table where her friends sat.
"She's too busy for us now." Rima joked as she glanced at the girl who was listening to her friends talk. Jeno simply nodded, not finding much humor in the statement. It was quieter without the freshman's lively laughs during their lunch hour.
Ji Eun was smiling at Areum's humor, moving her eyes towards the table without thinking. Her smile faded upon noticing the group's dejected demeanor. She noticed all of them silently staring into their device or picking at their food without much interest. At least until Jaemin had reached the table. He noticed his sister's stare and gave a brief wave to her, catching the attention of the rest of the junior's group.
Ji Eun smiled back weakly, hoping to shake off the weird glances she was getting from the rest of the cafeteria. She turned back around into her own tables' conversations, laughing or smiling every so often at their comical statements.
"Guys, I was thinking, what if we went bowling this weekend? I heard the bowling alley near my house has a discount going on for four people and over. Anyone down?" Soomin- one of Ji Eun's newer friends- asked curiously, she raised her eyebrows waiting for a response.
"We could go" Hyun-Tae responded firmly. "It could be like a welcome party for Ji Eun". Areum let out a scoff "Damn someone's whipped". Hyun-Tae let out an offended laugh "Shut up Areum". Soomin nudged Ji Eun lightly earning a flustered smile from the girl.
"Whatever"

"Jisung wait up!" The shorter sophomore ran after his friend. "Chenle you're slow" The boy commented dryly. "Not I'm not. You're too fast." The shorter boy mocked silently. "By the way did coach come today?" Jisung asked turning towards the locker room hallway. Chenle nodded "yep, his leg is still in pretty bad condition though". A small grin etched across his lips "That's where the captain comes in".
The two teens continued on towards the locker room. Both silently walking, just as they were turning to go into the room they were stopped by a man in between.
"Yes?" Chenle raised his eyebrows curiously, awaiting the boy's response. Jisung, likewise, was intrigued, he had also recognized the familiar boy.
"I'm Ji-Eun's friend, Hyun-Tae." Jisung nodded with acknowledgment.
"Yeah, what's up?"
"I was wondering if you guys knew what kind of cake she likes." Chenle smiled at the taller boy.
"Well, that's an odd question, Hyun-Tae. May I ask what for?" Hyun-Tae gave a small smile.
"Just curious" Jisung gave Chenle a confused glance before Moving around Hyun-Tae and walking away.
"Okay"
"He doesn't talk much, does he?" Chenle shrugged before patting the boy on the shoulder and following after his friend.
"Not to you, he doesn't. And by the way, It's vanilla. " Chenle proceeded to walk away, leaving the other boy puzzled about their behavior. Hyun-Tae let out a bitter laugh, walking away from the door.
"Fucking dicks."

"Ji-Eun" Ji-Eun turned around upon hearing her name. Her eyes landed on Rima.
oh. She smiled at the junior.
"Hey, Rima" Rima smiled at the girl. In all honestly, she had missed the freshman's company. It was inevitably quieter without her light-hearted jokes and playful banter with her older brother.
"Are you busy this weekend? The student council is getting together this weekend, I thought maybe you'd like to come along? Renjun assumed you might be interested. It's getting quite boring with you at the table too. I would really enjoy a certain freshman's company.".
"Of course I would" Ji Eun grinned. The playful attitude was once again showing through the devilish smile. It was something in Ji Eun's expressions that was excellent at giving someone the wrong idea. Her innocent gestures were only a cover for the confident brat she was underneath. It was only logical for her character to be such a way, after all, she was the youngest child until Ji Aye was born.
"Okay, I guess I'll see you then. I'll text you the details later." Ji Eun nodded excitedly. Once again misleading the people in front of her. Yes, Ji Eun had enjoyed the thought of joining the council, but now, more than her love for it, it was her promise to Renjun that dragged her down. The stupid promise to help him with his own love life.
Its okay, she thought. In reality however, it wasn't okay. She was not okay with having her first love die so quickly. Nothing could be done to fix the hole in her heart that she felt when she thought about Renjun.
"Okay class, get into your teams." The gym teacher blew her whistle rigorously, earning groans from the girl in the corners who were busily gossiping about the school. She looked at the students with distaste, clearly disappointed with the attitude they had. The older woman ignored it, knowing that arguing with teenagers would have no peaceful resolution.
Ji-Eun and Rima both went in opposite directions, waving brief 'byes' before turning around to continue with the teacher's directions.
