"Mrs Stokes. I am not sure how you imagine this to go well." the doctor said.
"At Leora's age, a lot of changes are taking place, mental and physical, it's too risky to have all this attention and paparazzi around her. I do not want to in any way critique your ways of parenting, but I strongly advise you to give your daughter a rest... maybe you, your husband, and Leora should take a vacation somewhere... more private. This is LA, she definitely isn't going to get a break here."
"Well," Patricia answered. "But I can't go on a holiday and wait for her to get old enough to handle all of this crazy stuff. That could take years and years! Even I sometimes feel like it's too much!"
"Oh please, mrs Stokes. I didn't say that you had to go until she's ready, she just needs a pause. To be honest, who is ever ready to handle this? Plus, you don't have to do what I recommend. It is only that, a reccomendation."
But she knew that even though it was only a reccomendation, it was very neccessary, and not to go wasn't even really a choice.
So she responded with: "Okay. We will go on vacation. Thank you for your advice!"
When she left she had this feeling... She almost felt guilty. She felt like Leora's suffering was caused only through her and her husband.
When she got to her car waiting for her outside, she realised what the solution was.
The solution was something that she had thought of a long time ago, and even had had one herself.
