So as James Buchanan Barnes and Steven Rogers have been *friends since childhood* they have grown up together as pushed through all problems and it is canon that Bucky is very protective of Steve, both pre-serum and post-serum.
There are many times when Bucky has saved Steve, such as just after his parents died and when he got beat up in *that alley*.
Bucky is also a mental anchor in a way, due to Steve's PTSD, he is mentally unstable and damaged from being a Capsicle. So when Steve defrosted, although Bucky may not have been there initially, he still helped Steve when the Avengers broke up.
But the bloody star spangled man had to bloody ditch him! He wasn't with him "till the end of the line" and left him for a woman he knew for what, a few years? Like I know that Peggy had a big influence on Steve, but they had both moved on, Peggy tipping Steve's blood out in Brooklyn and starting a relationship with Daniel, I mean she had a family and children!
Even if stucky isn't a romantic relationship, it is a wonderful friendship!
But the man who witnessed Peggy's funeral and kissed her bloody niece had to RETURN to her.
Anyway sorry lads I'm going on holiday tommorow so I probably won't update for a few days!
