I wiped my thumb on Five's cheek, brushing away a matted piece of hair to wipe away at the blood covering his face. Granted, I had the same arrangement, but Five always came first in my mind.
His knuckles were white with his hair he was clutching AJ's bag, jaw set tight. "Calm down," I whispered, leaning in to fix his tie and his collar. He didn't listen.

And then he pushed me off.

Five not-so-gently placed his hands on my wrists, effectively pulling me and pushing me off him. I stumbled backwards, surprised. A brief flash of regret showed in his eyes before they hardened again. He didn't look at me as the Handler approached us.

"Well?" Without turning around, Five held out AJ's bag. The Handler gasped in delight. "AJ! You know, you're really starting to fill out those tight little shorts of yours. Why so quiet?"

"You tell me," I mumbled.

"Thought you'd be buzzing after this morning's slaughter," The Handler told us, a smile in her tone.

"All this killing...we're done with it," Five told her. Again, he didn't look at me, but he did make the decision for me.

"What?" The Handler chided. "Am I supposed to take that seriously?"

Five's voice wavered as he spoke again. "What we did today, we did for my family. We did it to save the world."

"Please," The Handler scoffed at us. "Spare me your little assassins with the heart of gold routine, will you?" She picked up the briefcase, placing it in my hands and turning to walk off. "Here. Per our agreement, this will get you two and your family back to 2019. You have 90 minutes."

A clock tolled conveniently in the background as I shouted out in rage, "90 minutes?! You said nothing about a time limit!"

"Actually, you have 89 minutes and 30 seconds. Better hurry," The Handler teased, glancing down at a fake watch on her wrist.

"This is impossible, okay?" Five snapped at her, shaking his head. "My siblings are scattered across the city!"

"Nothing's impossible." The Handler 'booped' Five's nose, smiling a toothy smile. "You both proved that this morning when you killed the board of directors."

"We need more time," I pleaded (and, suddenly, I felt fucking stupid. Five is mad at me for God knows what reason, i'm covered in blood and will most likely need to get a new dress, my hand has little burns all over it from blinking around with Five, and I was stupid enough to trust the Handler. yeah, way to go, Wednesday! oh, how ever would we save the world without you?).
