Camilla was sitting in the kitchen in the salvatore house with a cupcake in front on her when her phone rang
The caller ID showed Kai and she pressed decline instantly
"Happy birthday Bon-Bon." Camilla said and took a bite of the cupcake
Suddenly she heard the door open and a voice call out
"Hello?" Kai called out
"No. That's impossible, because why would he-?" Elena said
"He didn't. He's all merged, he's packed and he's on his way to Portland." Damon said loudly
"Whew. I forgot how massive this house was. Yum, cupcakes." Kai said walking in "Sorry, am I interrupting something?"
"What are you doing here?" Damon asked
"Funniest thing. I need your help." Kai said and grabbed the cupcake from Camillas hand and took a bite. The two stared at each other while Damon and Elena stood their awkwardly and coughed
"Why would we give a letter to Jo?" Elena asked
"I can't find her using a locator spell. And, you know, good on her because under normal circumstances i'd be jazzed to gouge our her belly button." Kai said
"Why would we help you, Kai?" Elena questioned
"In case you haven't figured out by now...i'm a sociopath. I know, shocker. I like being a sociopath, you know. I'm not burned by thing like guilt...or love." Kai said and he and Camilla tensed at the last word "So then, this merge happens with my brother Luke, and I won. Which is great, because I absorbed his ability to do magic but now I can't stop thinking about how Luke died. How Livs life is ruined. For some horrible reason, I can't shake how badly I feel about it."
"You feel bad?" Elena asked
"Yeah. So when I absorbed Lukes magic I must have gotten some of his qualities or something, like empathy. So I googled how to process emotional pain and they said if you write everything down in a letter and burn it, you'll be healed. So I started writing and this water literally started pooling in my eyes. Has that ever happened to you? Like water just oozing out of my eyeballs like I'm some alien creature excreting fluids." Kai said disgusted
"You mean you cried?" Camilla asked
"Yes. And after that was done, I burned the letter. The feelings, they're still there. So I really feel strongly that Jo needs to know how sorry I am for destroying our family. But let's face it guys, all right? I mean Elena, you of all people should be willing to look past the things i've done to see that there's good somewhere in me. You did it with Damon." Kai said
