Kim SeokJin POV
I stand there at the window, watching the scene happening in my driveway.I sigh and step away from the blinds, pulling the curtains closed.
"She really did move on from me too..." I mumble and let out a soft, sad laugh to myself.
The sound of the door opening rings in my ears. I spin around to see (Y/N) stepping in carefully, making eye contact with me.
"Jin-" I put my hand up and shake my head.
"I can't make you change your mind once you've made it up (Y/N)," I start, showing her a gentle smile. "Thank you for letting me meet my son." I say and move to the side so she can get him from the kitchen.
"Thank you, Jin." She says softly and picks up Ji Sung, walking out to see Hoseok.
I watch as Ji Sung shouts 'Dad!' excitedly at the sight of Hoseok.
Hoseok and I make brief eye contact as he leads (Y/N) and Ji Sung to his car.
I nod my head before breaking the eye contact and closing the front door, sitting on the couch.
"Hopefully we see each other again soon..." I whisper.
(Y/N) POV
After I finish situating Ji Sung in his car seat I get into the passengers, closing the door and buckling myself."I've made it to the semi-finale." Hoseok says as he starts the car, backing out of the driveway, I watch as my car continues to sit in Jins driveway.
"I'll need to pick up my car later." I say ignoring his statement.
"(Y/N) did you hear what I said?" Hoseok asks, placing his hand on mine and holding it tightly.
"Did I hear what you said about your underground rap battles- the thing that started this whole thing in the first place? Yes Hoseok, yes I did." I reply and continue to look out the windshield, holding his hand back tightly.
I look down and suck in a breath.
"Hoseok I may of said I'll stay, but that doesn't mean we're ignoring all the issues we have. We have to make efforts to make sure those mistakes don't happen again." I say and look over at him. He kept his eye on the road and released a sigh.
"I know." He replies shortly and nods his head, slipping his hand from mine and putting it on the steering wheel.
The rest of the ride was filled with Ji Sung babbling until he eventually fell asleep.
When the car pulls into our driveway, I get out go to pick up Ji Sung, but Hoseok beats me to it.
"I can-"
"I haven't held him for a while, I missed him." Hoseok stops me and walks to the house with me following behind.
We step inside and both Hoseoks and my fathers stand up from the couch, rushing to us. Hoseok puts his index finger to his lips, silently signaling to them to be quiet. He disappears with Ji Sung upstairs, and Hoseok's and I's fathers look at me.
"(Y/N)-"
"Don't." I interrupt my dad, walking into the kitchen.
"Young lady you will listen to me-"
"I'm 34 years old, married and with a son and my own business. I'm pretty sure I'm a grown adult now." I cut him off again, getting water from the fridge.
He clenches his fists and places them on the counter, sucking in a breath.
"(Y/N), at least listen to my reasoning." He pleads and I make eye contact with him.
"Two minutes, go." I reply and start sipping my water.
"Ok, I ran into the wrong people (Y/N)." He whispers to me, making me raise my eyebrows in sarcastic surprise as I swallow my water. "I had to start cutting into company funds and I was running out of them, so this marriage is helping me out— it's stopping those gang members from going after you and your mom." He explains and I nod my head slowly.
"Yeah, so you have one minute left to tell me the truth." I say looking down at my watch.
"(Y/N!)" He whisper shouts, leaning closer to me. "This is the truth! I was going into debt!" He exclaims and I nod my head again.
"So you tricked me into a marriage to feed into your gambling addiction?!" I raise my voice and he shushes me quickly.
"It's not an addiction (Y/N), I just got carried away... bit off more than I could chew." He says, embarrassed.
I sigh and rinse my cup, placing it in the sink gently and leaning on the counter again, looking at him. "What's the catch?" I ask shortly, causing him to look up at me surprised.
"I- what are you talking about-"
"Dad I know that you wouldn't show up after all this time just for fun. You've never tried to reason with before, not even when I was threatening to leave before I actually did so what's the reason you've shown up again?" I ask and raise an eyebrow while looking at him.
He sighs and looks down before looking back at me.
"The money from this marriage... isn't cutting it anymore. They want more than I can give... I need your help." He says and steps away from the counter, crossing his arms.
"How much?" I cross my arms, making eye contact with him.
"600." He replies and I nod my head slowly.
"I can do that-"
"Thousand. 600 thousand." He cuts me off. My jaw drops at his response.
"T-thousand—"
"I don't care how you get it, as long as you get it." He says and lets his arms drop to the side.
"Dad I-"
"If you care enough, you'll get me the money." He cuts me off again.
And he leaves.
