I'm now sitting in one of the chairs in Isabel's hospital room. The bitch is making it difficult for us to keep our sanity by not waking up. The teens were here- Carter, Nick, Jordan, Aidan and I- but the adults weren't. Aunt Jessa stayed back at Laurie's to take care of the kids as they'd probably be scarred for life if they see Isabel's current state. Uncle Chris took Momma Evie out for some food and probably forced her to go home and sleep.
"Welcome to Day Two, people." Uncle Chris greeted as he came in bearing food. My stomach growled. It was ten in the morning and I haven't eaten anything except liters of caffeine. Jordan and Aidan went home for lunch yesterday to tell their parents where they're going, which is here. Last night, my family came in to see how Isabel was doing and also to take me away. Tough luck. We've also received the news that Isabel only anaemia, much to our relief.
"Hiya, Uncle Chris." Carter greeted. He was feeling a bit better because Isabel's heart was still beating.
"I don't get how you teenagers have the energy to stay up." The old man shook his head and handed us a styrofoam box each.
"Chinese?" Nick asked.
"Yep, and Nick, your parents says that you have to be home by five." Uncle Chris replied.
At that, Nick's face fell. "Oh, joy."
He was leaving tonight and was not happy about it one bit.
"Hey, it's okay." Jordan patted Nick's back. "I'm sure she'll be awake before then."
"I hope." Grumbled the poor boy with the gorgeous mahogany hair. I swear sometimes I wonder how Nick got his hair.
"Cee, you haven't said a word. Are you okay?" Asked Carter.
"Fine." I grumbled.
"Don't be such a Debbie Downer, she'll wake up." Aidan assured as he shoved a pice of prawn into his mouth.
"How'd you know?" I challenged, taking a bite of the spring roll.
"Shrimp noodles is the best in Chinese." Jordan said out of nowhere.
"Intuition." Aidan replied, shrugging.
"Oh my God, guys, shut up, I feel like I have a hangover." said a soft and weak feminine voice. All heads snapped to turn at me.
"What? It wasn't me, I swear!" I said.
We all started to look around.
"The handicapped person on the bed, numbskulls." said the voice again.
"Isabel?" Carter asked as he rushed over to the bed.
"Yes, now, water." She demanded.
Nick rushed to the jug of water, poured half into the cup and handed it over to Isabel. "Oh my God, Izz, I'm so sorry."
"Why are you sorry?"
"For making you go through this."
"I was undergoing PMS, Nick."
"Sometimes, anaemia can be triggered by anxiety. Which is what you were feeling that night." Aidan cut in.
"Well, look at you being a smart aleck, aren't you going to call a doctor or something?"
"On it!" Jordan said as he rushed out of the room to get the doctor.
"So how's life?" Isabel smiled at me. "Oh wait, let me rephrase that, how long have I been out?"
"That's not rephrasing." I laughed.
The pale brunette shrugged. "Whatever, just tell me."
"A day and a half."
