"Izuku was wrong. I will never find my way home. It's impossible. Oh, Mother, where can you be?" (Y/N) asked herself, rubbing her arms trying to warm up as she climbed into a old shoe. With (Y/N) mother, Inko, she was singing, rocking in her chair, holding the flower plot with the flower that (Y/N) came out of. It was still alive, she had always thought the flower would live as long (Y/N) does.
"I know there's someone, Somewhere, Someone. Who's sure to find her. Soon. After the rain goes. There are rainbows. She'll find the rainbow. Soon. Soon my breaking heart will mend. Soon a happy ending. Troubles behind her I will find her. Homeward bound Safe and sound. And soon." Inko sings, Toshi laid near her, listening to the women song. He tried to cheer her up with a cheerful bark, but Inko only stared at the flower, truly wondering where her daughter was.
"Feeling better, my dear?" The mouse asks, looking at the small girl who had sat up as she was laying down on the mouses bed.
"Where am I?"
"In my kitchen. I'm Mina Ashido and we are snug and safe underground." (Y/N) looked over and saw pink mouse in a puffy dress.
"I'm underground?"
"Yes, dearie, three feet under, I dug it myself with my own two hands. Here, drink this." Mina says after walking over to the small girl and handing her a drink.
"At least that toad won't find me down here."
"There's something I don't understand. Did you really think you could survive the winter in that old shoe? Ha, ha! Honestly!" Mina had turned her back on the girl as she picked up a few things to pick up her house.
"I wanna go home."
"Well, I'm afraid you'll just have to wait here till spring, (Y/N)."
"You know my name!" The girl asked surprised, not knowing how this mouse knew her name.
"Oh, that was easy. I know much more. Like, you were engaged to the fairy prince. Katsuki, I believe? Well, almost. That is so sad."
"What?"
"That he was found stone-cold frozen dead in the snow. But of course you knew that." Mina says, before turning to look at the girl, her eyes widening.
"No. Katsuki, no!" (Y/N) felt pain in her chest as tears filled her eyes.
Mina walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder, "Its ok. I promise."
"No, it's not true. No!" The girl had covered her face with her hands as the tears went down her face.
"Oh, (Y/N). Forgive me. Sometimes I just blurt things out without thinking. You're still young, though. There'll be another." Mina says, hoping to cheer the girl up.
"He was perfect."
"Nobody's perfect."
"Katsuki was the only one--"
Mina cut her off by handing her a hood that would keep her warm. "Now, put this on. We'll take these corn cakes to Shinso. He lives just down the tunnel."
"I'd rather not."
"I saved your life this very day and you'd rather not?" Mina pouts, not liking how she was acting.
"Very well." (Y/N) gets up, not wanting to listen to her.
"One more thing... is it true that you have a beautiful voice?"
"I don't feel much like singing."
"You must sing for Shinso! He loves sweet things. Come on. Shinso loves his corn cakes." Mina hands her the basket and the two head down a tunnel to Shinsos cave.
"Katsuki was looking for me. That's what must have happened." (Y/N) whispered to herself, not caring if Mina would respond or not.
"Good afternoon, Shinso." The pink mouse called out after noticing the small purple mole..well he was small for most moles, but he still was bigger than them,
"Oh, yes. Mina?"
"Good afternoon. Lovely day. I want you to meet a new friend of mine, (Y/N). She just came down from up there."
"Up there"? Shinso repeats, making a gesture to the roof of the cave.
"Up there."
"Terrible place! Mmm. How do you do, Miss (Y/N)? Pleased to make your acquaintance."
"How do you do, Shinso?" (Y/N) was just looking at the ground not really bothering with the conversation.
"Come in. Don't touch anything. These are my things." Shinso says, leading the two into the main part of his underground home.
"We brought some corn cakes for you! Just you try one, Shinso."
"Ooh. Mmm." Shinso has takes the basket and ate a few.
"Very nice. Well, tell us about up there. I went up once. Nearly blinded me. Hurried as fast as I could back down where it's dark and decent."
"Oh. Uh, but....I love the light." (Y/N) says, the light to her meant many things, the main one begin Katsuki. He was a light to her, a bright one that she seemed to have lost.
"Hate it. End of story." The purple mole says. The girl looked at him and noticed he was wearing a weird old fashioned suit, even having a cane in his hand. Not like she cared. She didn't even want to be here. She wanted to be with her mother. She wanted to be at home. Why did it seem the world was against her?
She thought about every bad thing that has happened to her which caused her to look away from the mole and mouse. The two look at each other confused on why (Y/N) was acting this way.
Mina tried to get (Y/N) to talk about the world above to Shinso. But she wouldn't. Shinso eventually changed the topic and the three made their way to what you would call a living room. Mina and Shinso sat down as (Y/N) just continued to stand. Mina suddenly had a idea, "(Y/N)...how about a story?"
"A story?"
"Yes! A sad story about the world above. But don't just say say it. Sing it!"
The small girl thought for a moment not sure if she wanted to sing, not after hearing she had lost her love.
