[Third Person POV]
The door opened , revealing a worried-looking woman. It was Shouyo's mother.
"Shouyo!" she immediately rushed to the small boy's side and pulled him into a tight hug ,
"I was so worried! How are you? Are you okay? What happened?""Mom , I'm fine" the two enjoyed their embrace , the older woman crying into her precious son's shoulders telling him how anxious and scared she was while said son giggled as he kept reassuring her that he was alright.
Several minutes had passed and Shouyo's mother pulled away unwillingly , it was then that she noticed the other person in the room,
"My my , aren't you Atsumu-kun?It's been a while since we last saw each other , hasn't it?" she smiled sweetly.Shouyo's mother never knew about their special relationship even though they had dated for two years.
"It has been a while indeed Auntie , how've you been?"
The two exchanged greetings, chattering about how reckless and idiotic Shouyo can be , earning whines from said person. Cheerful giggles filled the room making the orange-haired patient feel at home.
Shouyo's mom looked at the wall clock , it was already midnight.
"Atsumu-kun , you should head home now , it's quite late and your parents must be worried."Though hesitant , Atsumu nodded in agreement , he waved goodbye at the two and left the hospital.
Shouyo's mother sighed and turnt towards her son,
"I told you to take it easy , do you have any idea how worried I was? I thought I was about to have a heart attack when your teacher told me the news."
"Hehe sorry mom, I thought I could push myself a little further."
"You really should take it easy, there is no available lung donations that are matched to your body , you know? If this goes on...then..."
She started sobbing , her frame trembling as she tries to hold back her tears.
Due to his current situation , if Shouyo does not find a suitable lung donator in less than 3 years , it could very well result in his death.
Said person and his mother were well aware of this fact. This was reality , no matter how cruel it may seem to some people.Shouyo took his mother's hand and placed it on his chest ,
thud..thud..thud..
"Mom , you feel that? My heart is beating just fine , it's okay , please don't worry yourself too much" a small yet endearing smile was placed on his lips as he spoke the words that his mother needed to hear the most right now.
