[Third Person POV]

The day after the fireworks festival was the day for Shouyo's monthly check-ups.

He was escorted to the hospital by his mother and his fiancee, they had declared the news to his family when they went home from the festival.

After waiting a solid hour, the results for the many tests were out.

The patient and his family were happily chatting in the doctor's office as the doctor returned with papers in his hands, a stern expression on his face.

They all expected good news to a certain extent, however their wish was far from becoming true.

"I'm terribly sorry to inform you this..."

The doctor spoke in a serious and noticably concerned tone.

A moment of silence fell on the room as they all waited in anticipation, the patient himself excluded.
Shouyo was painfully aware that he wouldn't last much longer, he knew his body best afterall.

"...the test results have shown that the disease is on its way to infect the patient's brain.
Once.."

Hesitation abundant in his voice, this doctor wasn't just a random doctor.
He was a family friend, he and Shouyo's mom were best friends in high school.
He viewed the little boy as his own son especially after Shouyo's father passed away in a car accident, he's been monitoring his conditions ever since that day they found out about it.

"..coughs once...the brain's affected, there is nothing we can do to save him."

He was clearly holding his tears back, everyone else tried to put on a brave face too.

The car ride home was eerily quiet, Atsumu was driving and his mother-in-law sat in the front alongside him.

The two were lost in their thoughts, full of despair and grief.
The clarification of a certain loved one's death was announced afterall.

Shouyo himself was sitting alone in the back seat, he was not at all saddened that he was soon about to die.

He had no regrets in life, though his dream of becoming the Little Giant was not yet fulfilled, he was content with being the Greatest Decoy.

He had a good relationship with everyone he loved, engaged to the man he endeared and treasured.

He was ready and prepared.

When they reached home, Atsumu and his mother-in-law had a discussion by themselves in the kitchen while Shouyo was in the living room with his younger sister.
