In the morning, Changbin groggily opened his eyes and flinched when a doctor standing in his cell closed an iron cuff around his neck. 

Changbin's head swam and he felt oddly disoriented, his vision was slightly blurry as he tried to focus on the doctor staring down at him. 

"What's this for?" He asked, gesturing to the iron cuff around his neck that connected to two iron cuffs encircling his wrists. 

The doctor smiled and patted his shoulder, acting as if he were a child again. 

"Precautions." 

Changbin squinted his eyes at the doctor and slowly pulled himself up on the uncomfortable bed. 

"Precautions for what?!" 

The doctor chuckled and shook his balding head. 

"You must not have heard. One of our subjects will finally be tested on and brought back to reality! It'll be a feat of science for sure!" He declared, sitting Changbin up and tying his wings tightly together. 

Changbin's eyes widened and he turned to face the doctor so quickly he almost got whiplash. 

"Which subject?!" 

The doctor stroked his chin and then pushed up his thick glasses. 

"I don't remember which subject. It's not really my department so the other doctors didn't really disclose much information. But in the meantime, there'll be no training for the other subjects." 

The doctor then forced Changbin to stand and pulled him out of his cell, dragging him down the hall and stopping at a metal door. 

After unlocking it he pushed Changbin inside and slammed it shut behind him. 

In the cramped room sat Hyunjin, Felix, Jeongin, Jooheon, Seungmin, Minho, and Jisung. They were covered in chains and a lot of other restraints as well. 

When Changbin surveyed the room, his heart almost stopped beating when he realized someone was missing. 

"Where's Chan hyung?!" He insisted, staring at Jooheon anxiously. 

Jooheon only looked up at him sadly with dark circles underneath his beautiful dark brown eyes. Seungmin stood up and walked over to Changbin, his face expressionless. 

"Where do you think he is Changbin hyung? He's obviously being turned back into a normal human. We'll probably never see him again." He croaked, his voice filled with emotions that didn't quite reach his face. 

Changbin took a step back and slid down against the door, his eyes filled with horror. 

"This wasn't supposed to happen! He was supposed to come with us! We were all going to escape and leave this horrid place as nine!" 

Jeongin glanced down at Changbin while sitting on top of a desk in the room, swinging his legs back and forth boredly. 

"Well it's too late Changbin. There's nothing we can do now. Let's just be happy for him." 

Suddenly, Changbin lifted his head and glared at Jeongin. 

"Be happy for him?! Are you even listening to yourself? He's going to have all of his memories and everything that makes him unique sucked from his body!! No one in their right mind would enjoy a process like that!" He yelled, standing up and walking over to Jeongin as his eyes blazed like two pieces of ember. 

Jeongin stared back at him coldly and got off of the desk, his chains rattling eerily. 

"I don't know why you insist on talking back to me. it's not going to make the situation any better. So just shut up and chill out Changbin." 

Hyunjin sat up on the desk and tapped his heel against it irritatedly. 

"As much as I hate to agree with the child who burned a scar onto my body, he's got a point. Let's just sit it out and wait. This is just a test after all. We don't even know if it will work." He explained, his eyes covered with a special black blindfold and his arms restricted by a white straitjacket. 

Changbin let out a frustrated groan and took a few steps back before sinking down the wall and sitting next to Felix in a corner of the cramped room.

For the next five hours they were forced to listen to Chan's screams that echoed from the room next to theirs. No one had the heart to say anything to lighten the mood so they sat in silence, listening to Chan's heart-wrenching cries. 

Then the door beside them clicked open and they heard footsteps as the doctors slowly led Chan down the hall. 

Jooheon just happened to look up at that moment and caught sight of Chan staring at him through the bars of the door's window before being dragged away. 

Changbin caught sight of Jooheon's expression and perked up. 

"What did you see Jooheon? Was the experiment a failure?" He pried, desperate to hear the news of what Chan had become. 

Jooheon tried to hold back his tears but couldn't help the few that escaped his eyes and trickled down his cheeks. 

"The experiment was a success." He admitted, Chan's grey eyes and confused expression popping back into his head and bringing about even more tears. 

Changbin bit his lip and then impulsively punched the wall, leaving behind a slight break in the concrete wall. 

"SHIT!" He yelled, gripping his bloody knuckles angrily and staring off into the distance with a murderous look on his face. 

Just then, a voice came over the loudspeaker. "Great news inhabitants of Gurgaon Facility, we've managed to successfully wipe both the memories and powers of one of the subjects. He's presently being taken back to the human world to live as a normal being. Your training is cancelled for the week and instead we will be focusing on wiping all of your memories and powers. Have a good day." The voice announced before shutting off with a loud screech. 

Jisung sucked in a sharp breath and exhaled shakily, his entire body trembling with nerves and worry. 

"Welp. There goes the neighborhood." 

Changbin shook his head and stood up, glancing around the whole room. 

"This isnt over! We still have a chance to escape and break free with our powers and memories intact! You've all heard about my plan. Who's ready to join me and escape this hellish place?!" He growled, his eyes fueled with a fire and determination that the others were beginning to lack. 

Felix, Jisung, Jooheon, Seungmin, and Minho hesitantly raised their hands. Changbin smiled and pulled out the map of the facility from his pocket. 

"Good. I'll tell you all the plan tonight and we'll escape tomorrow. I'm not leaving anyone behind and that applies to you too Hyunjin and Jeongin." 

Hyunjin smiled and Jeongin scoffed before leaning in to hear Changbin explain his plan thoroughly.
