"Yes, for the billionth time," I sighed; face-palming myself.

"God, you're lucky; half of the girls in school would kill to be in your place," Paisley replied in a soft voice.

"And I'd be the one I would ask them to kill," I explained looking out of the window, everything seemed to be blurry. But I felt nothing- it was like the world was moving while I sat still.

"Lighten up! So how did it feel like?" Paisley asked, now in the fan-girling mode. She had always been a shipper of Marker, which was allegedly supposed to be our "ship name".

"It felt horrible," I lied.

It felt like a zoo of butterflies unfurled in my stomach and I was floating in space.

But I'd rather die than admit that to anyone.

"Meh, so whatcha gonna do?" Paisley asked.

"I don't know but currently I'm on a bus to Las Vegas," I explained as the bus kept on roaring at light speed.

"You can't run, you have to deal with the problem," Paisley preached.

"First of all, I'm not running: I'm riding the bus, second of all: I don't know how to deal with the problem, third of all: when did you get so deep?"

"God, I said you have to deal with a problem not give a speech to the government on honesty."

"Fine, I gotta go, bye," I said and ended the call.

Ruffling my long hair I climbed the stairs; in about five minutes the bus came to a stop and I exited.

I must have been at least 20 miles away from where I left Parker.

Taking in a deep breath, lifting up my hoodie and shoving my hands into my pocket I started to where I was before.

I should have kissed him back.
WHAT NO, FUCK NO.
You should have kissed him back.
NOT IN A BILLION YEARS.

As I kept on walking and walking (and walking and walking and walking), I noticed a dark blue truck; for a second there I thought it was Parker's and then I saw punch-marks on the hood of it. Parker's was clean and not dented so I took no notice of it.

And soon it pulled up next to me and a sighing Parker stepped out, he put his hands on my hoodie and put it down.

For a split second there we where both starring at each other, his eyes were full of worry and mine were of nothing, mine were of space.

"Why'd you do that?" I shot at him; making my tone sound uneasy.

"Most girls would be happy they got a kiss from me," his arrogantness answered; his signature grin plastered on his face.

"Yeah but there's that 0.1 percent thats screaming 'BEHEAD HIM'," I wailed shooting the you-messed-with-the-wrong-girl look his way.

"Fine. Uh-just, can we talk?" His voice sounded sincere but there was no emotion on his expression.

"Um, okay?"

-

Parker ruffled his brown hair and sat a few feet next to me.

I laid down gazing at the clouds as my hands caressed the semi-wet grass; the sound of running water filled my ears.

"So, I want to ask-"

"Go on."

"Why are you helping me? Seriously."

I hesitated, the answer to this could make us even awkwarder but hey; he wants it.

"Fine. I'm helping you because I can't help but stand that you're an arrogant idiot who can't deal with things."

"I can, deal with things Morgan."

"Yes, but your way of dealing with things is smoking and drinking. And Parker, my father died of lung cancer and know I'm living with my crazed step-dad. So please do forgive me if I though that I don't want your fucking sad child to feel that way!"

And I stood up; for some reason the anger inside me boiled to the point where I couldn't help but feel like the only remedy was to kick the stuffing out of someone.

Parker stood, he smiled a sympathetic smile my way and I couldn't help it.

My fists felt lonely.

And felt like meeting his face.
