Time: 10.00Thomas POV
I've returned home after mom explained to the doctor why I healed fast, the doctors seem to be really calm with this. Mom said the doctor was actually an ability holder, how convenient.
Mom and I have brought Logan to our home to discuss about where we are going because he said he needs more companion. Logan seem to not mind at all, though he helps mom with chores even though mom didn't ask him. Logan said that it's part of his job to aid others, whatever the reason is.
"Sooooo, where are we going?"
Logan puts a book on the desk in front of us, showing writings of people informations, and a....., map?
He points to a small part of the map.
"Here."
I glanced at where his finger is pointing.
"Washington DC?"
"Yes, it's the closest location at the moment."
He lays back on the sofa, fixing his glasses and looking at me.
"Now Thomas, do you think you're ready?"
I look up and sees mom standing behind Logan smiling, I couldn't let her down.
I nod my head and smile to Logan.
"Let's go!"
------------------
Time skip: 12.00I followed Logan as he walks, taking short cuts. I don't get why we don't just go to the train station with a bus or something.
"Logan why don't we just walk or take a bus with a normal rout to the train station?"
"Too risky."
"What do you mean 'Too risky'?"
"Assassins and hunters."
"Oh, wait. Are you referring to the 'ability holder murders'?"
"Correct."
I tilt my head for a moment and thought to myself, 50% of the population are either ability holders or descendant of people who possess magic. Many people still have urges against us, some even made the wrong turn of life.
"We're here"
I flinch as I realized that we've arrived at the train station, my legs are a bit sore.
Logan makes his way to the counter as I walk behind him.
"Two tickets to Washington, DC"
The lady behind the counter looks tired. She gave Logan the tickets and smiled. Logan handed her some money and waves to her.
"S-sir you forgot your change!"
She yelled from the counter.
"Keep it."
Logan looked back and waved to the girl, he smiled.
[5 Minutes time skip]
"Y'know, you're very generous Logan"
I smile as the higher male behind me checked his pocket watch.
"Again, part of my job to aid others."
Just as we make a small talk about a few things we heard a loud sound.
"Baltimore to Washington in gate 8D!"
"Well, here we go"
——————————
Current time: 13.06After 30 minutes of the train ride, we've arrive in Washington DC. Most of the ride was just me having a chat with Logan, he seems to be...., that kind of person.
The kind of person who doesn't show much of his feelings. The kind of person to think that they'll be a burden to anyone else.
That's why I try to get to know him better little by little. To make him show some parts of emotions, it was nice to see him smile though.
"Sooooo...., where are we going now?"
Logan looked at me and then turn his head to the massive clock on one of the station's wall.
"How about lunch? You seem to be a bit tired yourself Thomas."
"Oh, we'll take a break then"
Logan nodded and started to walk outside of the train station building while I follow him from behind.
The sidewalk was filled with people chattering, searching a taxi, and even just people having a walk with their pup- I mean dog. (he has the horrible habit of calling dogs puppies and same for calling cats kitties hush)
We then walk pass by a small cafe with a pastel teal aesthetic to it.
"How about we stop here Lo?"
Logan looked at the store beside me for a moment.
"Sure."
As we walk in we were greeted by some staff members that were wearing black shirts, blue aprons, and pastel purple hair pins for the females.
Me and Logan sat down at the empty seat on the corner of the room, just beside the window.
After ordering our food Logan starts to read a book he carried, it was some kind of Novel? I don't really know.
"Hey Lo, who're we searching?"
I glance at the busy streets outside of the window.
"A florist named Patton Baker."
"A florist? What's so special about him?"
Logan flips the page of his book. He glanced at me before reading his book back
"He is an ability holder"
"What's his ability?"
Logan closes the book he was reading and take out the other book containing the information of others.
"He is able to heal others with his flowers, he can also look through other peoples memory"
He stated, closing his book. He seems makes a cross on the book cover and then the book was covered in dark blue mist. Before I knew it, it was already gone.
He must've use an inventory spell? I didn't see his mouth move at all though.
I shake all my thoughts and focus back on the scenery of the busy road outside.
"So how'll we find Patton?"
"He has a flower shop"
"A flower shop?"
"Correct"
Logan sips his tea while continuing on reading his book.
"What's it called?"
I ask curiously while drinking my frapuchino.
Logan POV
"I think it's called 'Moral Flowers'."
I answer Thomas as I take another sip of my tea. Thomas choked on his frapuchino and I instantly look up to him.
"Thomas!"
"No, no, no,*cough* I'm fine *cough*"
I raise an eyebrow at him, confused.
"Why'd you suddenly choked?"
I ask him. He was wiping his mouth, but then looked at me.
"Um....., Lo look over there"
Thomas points out of the window towards a small shop across the street. My eyes widened.
"How...., convenient"
