Kissing Ashe's Freckles

Ashe has been pretty down lately, memories of Lonato had been bothering him and he'd been plagued with nightmares of the campaign the blue lions had to complete where they killed his adoptive father. As his partner, you were determined to cheer him up.

"Ashe, come here a sec." you urged him to come closer as the pair of you sat in his room, he'd been shutting himself in lately due to the black cloud that hung above him.

"What is it y/n? Do I have something on my face?" Ashe self consciously brought a hand to his face as your eyes locked on to his freckles. Your target had been sighted.

"Yeah, hold still as second..." you leaned in even closer, the man's eyes widened slightly in surprise before you pecked a kiss on the bridge of his nose.

"It's a freckle!"

"O-oh yeah, I have a few of those..." Ashe turned away, somewhat embarrassed. He clearly didn't see where this was going.

"I'm going to count them."

"Wha-?"

Before he could answer, you popped another kiss on his cheek.

"One," kiss, "two," kiss, "threeeee," kiss.

"Y-y/n..." Ashe couldn't help but stay still as you peppered his face with kisses, before moving onto his shoulders. You couldn't see the freckles under his armour, but you knew they were there.

"They so pretty, like a starry night sky," you broke count as you praised him, a weak smile beginning to tickle his lips. No matter how down he was, your affection always managed to cheer him up. You were the sweetest medicine he knew.

"Thank you, y/n..."

Looking up as you kissed his hand, you met his eyes, now filled with that gentle warmth you'd come to know and love rather than the cold emptiness that ate away at him from time to time.

"Do you feel a bit better?"

Ashe nodded.

"How couldn't I when you're here? I'm sorry for being so sad, it's just..."

"I know." You kissed him on the forehead, stroking his face gently. "We all have our bad days, it's ok."

"Y/n... Can we stay like this a little while longer?" Ashe pleaded quietly, interlacing his fingers with yours.

"For as long as you need my love."
