The monster in the mirror

You are not aware of my existence, but I know you better than myself.

I'm calling you out to play hide and seek. But I don't tell you that you will be hiding, and you will be seeking...

Like a serpent eating its own tail, you will run around in circles, looking for something that you cannot see. But I'm following. My eyes are lurking from every alloy of stainless steel. So when you are in the dark cellar, choosing wine from your French collection, my gloomy reflection will be imprinted on the tap of the barrel.

I have witnessed your deepest thought. I have seen your soul sin. And we haven't even shared a sip of coffee. But still, I will expose you like a secret until your dry eyes start crying out sand.

I will spill like water in a glass from your mirror. Give birth to myself. And I will ruin your tiles with my amniotic fluid that kept me warm in-between your existential breaths.

Now the glass is finally shattered, and all the reason in your mind is lost. Before you were one, and now you are two. You forgot where you came from. Which side of the glass was yours? And it makes you wonder if you were the monster all along.
