Fall...

It's a fun time of year, Halloween in a few months, the leaves change and fall. The leaves aren't the only things that can change...

I looked at myself in the mirror as I adjusted my outfit. I had a blank face, no expression...

This is my fourth new school and I'm only a junior

This is my fourth new school and I'm only a junior. But this year is gonna be different... I can feel it.
"(Y/n)!" My mom called.
I grabbed my phone and bag, and made my way downstairs.
I walked into the kitchen and smiled slightly at my mom, "Are you excited?" She asked.
"It's my fourth school in 3 years... How excited can someone be?" I asked.
"Please (Y/n), please try..." my mom frowned.
I sighed, "I will... I promise."
"You know the rules, right?" She asked.
"Yes," I smiled.
"Good," my mom walked me out the door, "Try and make some friends, that'll help..."
"I promised I'd follow the rules and try, don't push it," I said.
"Okay..." my mom smiled slightly, "Have a good day... I love you."

I waved goodbye as I walked down the sidewalk.

As I walked down to the sidewalk, the school in sight, I could sense someone walking behind me. I turned around to see a large group of people.

"Oh great," I thought, "A cliche."
I put my headphones in, pretending to not be paying attention but I could hear everything they were saying...

"Who's that?" A male voice asked.
"No clue, you should go introduce yourself Dante," another male voice said.
"Nah, my days of chasing women are over," Dante's voice said.
"Why's that?" A British voice asked.
"Because last year he got punch by a girl and they were complained to the principal," a female voice said.
"What about you Laurence? Why don't you go introduce yourself? She seems new and everyone loves you," Dante's voice said.
"I might," Laurence's voice said.

"Yeah... Sure, 'everyone loves me.' We'll see about that..." I thought.
"She has headphones in, I'll try later," Laurence said.

I started walking faster until I lost them. I don't want or need friends... I never have and I never will.

Maybe that's my problem... I don't have friends...

I shook the thoughts away, I've gone my entire life without friends and I'm not about to start my junior year. I'm one year away from graduating and being a hermit for the rest of my life.

It was gonna be awhile to classes started so I found a quiet spot to be by myself. I say in between some trees that were changing. The leaves on the ground just made it even more...

Beautiful...

I shut my locker, it was time for lunch. As I walked to the lunch room, one of the boys from this morning walked up to me.
"Hi, my name is Laurence... Laurence Zvahl," he smiled.
I looked at him blankly, making him uncomfortable, "I uhm... Just wanted to introduce myself. See if you needed anything... with you being new and all."
"I'm good, thanks," I said.
"Whats your name?" He asked.
I sighed annoyed, "Listen, you getting to know me or whatever, it's not gonna be a thing. I've gone the last seventeen years without making friends and I've done pretty well by myself."
"Wow... Seems like you have yourself pretty well figured out, huh?" He asked.
"Yeah, I do," I nodded.
"Well then... so what? Are you a hermit or something?" He asked.
"Yeah, pretty much," I nodded.
"Well... If you ever decide you wanna stop talking to yourself, you know where to find me," he said walking away.
"No I don't! Don't need to!" I shouted.

He turned back and smiled at me and I gave a small glare. I turned around and smiled slightly... he seems sweet, but making friends...

It's against the rules...

:=:Laurence POV:=:

I shook my head smiling as I walked away from this strange new girl...
"So? What'd she say?" Dante asked.
"She's basically a hermit. She says she has no friends and has no interest in making friends. She's sassy... It's intriguing as to why she has no desire to have friends," I explained.
"Oh? Haven't seen you so invested in a girl since Aphmau," Katelyn chuckled.
"Wait, do you think she bought that house that was for sale next to yours?" Garroth asked.
"She may have..." I said.
"Let's just eat lunch, if she wants to make friends, we'll be ready with open arms," Aphmau said.
"Aph's right, I never did get her name though..." I frowned.

We all sat down and ate lunch and I noticed that she was sitting in the trees eating her lunch.

Something about her... It's...

Different...
