:=:Laurence's POV:=:

She's just so...

Extraordinary..

I left the forest with a smile, though her obsession with the forest is a bit strange, I think it defines who she is. It makes me curious as to why she loves it some much.

All I know, is that I want to make however much time she has left in Phoenix Drop...

Amazing...

:=:Your POV:=:

That's the first time I've ever opened up like that. There's something really special about him... Maybe being his friend won't be so bad...

I opened the front door and saw my mom waiting, "Where have you been? School ended hours ago!"
"I was at the park, it's that time of year again and I just... wanted to be seventeen for once," I said.
My mom sighed, "I have something to tell you."
I looked at my with concern, "What's wrong?"
"It may or may not be good news, but... I spoke to your father, and we're gonna be here longer then we thought."
"For how long?" I asked.
"Until you graduate..." she smiled slightly.
"Really? So... I can actually have friends?" I asked.
My mom nodded, "Your Dad wanted you to spend your next few years of High School here."

I went silent... I'm not sure how many people will be open to having Luke Jacobson's daughter as a friend...

"So why are we staying so long?" I asked.
"Well... Phoenix Drop is a good area and the school is nice as well. Your Dad told me he wants to be around more, so he wants us to stay here," she explained, "Plus, I may have mentioned that it's your Junior year and next year you're gonna graduate so we want it to be at the same school."
"So... I'm actually gonna talk to Dad?" I asked hopeful.
My mom smiled, "Yes... I'm not sure when, could be tomorrow, could be a few weeks. Whenever he finds the time."
"Awesome..." I smiled.

I set my backpack down in the kitchen, "Could I go out tonight? I wanna look around Phoenix Drop."
"Sure, just be back before midnight," my mom said, "And have your location on."
"I will," I grabbed my bag and headed out.

I watched as the sky changed colors as the sun set, it was so peaceful and quiet. But the silence was interrupted when a group of girls walked up to me.
"Hey, aren't you (Y/n) Jacobson?" One asked.
"Depends... Who's asking?" I asked.
"Oh! Sorry!" One laughed, "I'm Aphmau! A friend of Laurence!"
"Oh... Hi," I said.
"This is Katelyn, Lyla and Lucinda, it's nice to meet you! Laurence has been so interested in you since he first saw you," Aphmau explained.
"Oh, cool. It's nice to meet you guys," I smiled awkwardly.
"We're scaring you, aren't we?" Lucinda laughed slightly, "It's okay, we can come on a bit strong. We just want to get to know you."
"Yeah, sorry... I'm not used to this," I gave a half smiled.
"It's okay!" Aphmau smiled.

We all walked together downtown and they showed me around Phoenix Drop. It was honestly such a beautiful town, it was so well put together and so clean. No one my Dad wants me here.

We walked into this place called Josie's Cafe and sat down at a table.
"So, how do you like Phoenix Drop so far?" Lyla asked.
"I like your fall forest. It's so beautiful there, it's... peaceful..." I smiled softly.
"You should come to the fall carnival with us! It starts next week!" Aphmau said excitedly.
"Sounds like fun," I smiled, "I'd have to see what I'm doing, but I should be able to come."
"Awesome!" Aphmau looked at her phone, "Oh, I better get home. My Mom doesn't want me out late."
"Same here," I said, "It was nice today... thank you guys."
"Anytime! See you at school!" Lyla smiled.

I walked out of the cafe and started to make my way home.

It's the little things that mean the most...
