Chapter 3

Coras Prov:
Dear diary,

I still can't get over what happened the other night. It just tripped me out. But I'm going to be honest I'm so glad I met Sara. We've been texting all day and she's taking me to this party tonight. It's a high school thing so at least I'll be introduced to people around here. Btw you might be wondering why I sound so chipper. I started antidepressants and well they work like a charm. The thoughts of self harm are still there but not as harsh as before. Very happy with myself rn.

I closed my journal and hid it under my mattress. Don't need someone snooping.

From Sara:
You wanna come over and start getting ready? \(^-^)/

S hit its 6.

To Sara:
Yeah:) I'll be over in about 5 min.

From Sara:
Kay girly:)

I ran downstairs and grabbed the 40$ my mom had left since she went to work. She's usually there for two days since she decided to be a nurse.

Quickly I packed some pjs and ran out the door.

"I seriously should have packed more clothes for this weather." I whispered to myself.

"Well you could always borrow my jacket" a deep voice said behind me.

I stopped in my tracks and turned around to face the blonde headed boy from the previous night.

"No no I'm fine" I stuttered.

"I insist. Don't need the new girl here locked In her house forever" he chucked," Btw I'm Luke."

He walked over and wrapped his coat around my shoulders.

"And your name is?" Luke insisted.

"Cora" I said looking at my shoes.

"So Cora" He smiled," Where at heading?"

"Sara Mackenzie's House" I answered," You know her?"

"Yeah we go to school together" He said coldly.

"Oh" is all I said.

"Well looks like your here" he broke the silence.

"Yup thanks for the coat btw" I said halfway talking it off before.

"No no keep it, I'll get it back tonight at the party" he winked and walked away.

"How did you.." To late he was gone.

Well okay.

I knocked on the door and an eager Sara came and pulled me inside.

"Did Luke hemmings just walk you here?" She asked surprised.

"Yeah.. Why?"

"He never talks to anyone in this town anymore" she said shocked," what did he say? Is that his coat? Did you get his number"

"Slow down" I laughed," I was freezing and he let me use it. Kinda and no."

"Why do you still have it?"

"He said he'll get it back tonight at the party" i raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah the party is at his and his mates lake house" she pointed out.

"Oh"

"Well let's just get ready so we won't be late" she giggled and dragged me upstairs.

The entire time she was mainly focused on my hair and makeup since hers was already done.

By the time we were finished it was almost 7.

"Done" she said in success.

I got up and looked in the mirror. I actually looked normal. Not like a rag doll who's been In her bed the past week and a half.

"Do you like?" She questioned.

"I love it, Thank you" I gave her a hug carefully not to ruin my hair of makeup. (Picture at the top.)

"So I picked out this outfit if you want it" she said holding up black skinny jeans with slits at the knees and a nirvana crop top with a gray cover up.

"Aw thanks" I smiled,"but what are you gonna wear?"

She smiled and walked into her closet. Moments later she came out in a black highwaisted skirt with doc martens and a long sleeve flowered crop top.

"You look beautiful" I said.

"So do you" she smiled," Now let's go party"

-Skip the car ride-

Once we arrived there were already over a hundred people there.

"Hey look it's the Newby" a tall fire red hair guy said " I'm Michael btw"

"I'm Sara but you already knew that and this is Cora" she pointed to me.

"Well hi Cora" he smiled all cheeky. He was quite attractive.

"Hi" I smiled.

"Well I'm going to get another drink" Micheal Said,"So come one Sara"

He pulled her away and went into the back.

Well I guess I'm all alone now. I thought to myself.

I decided to wonder around and find where drinks were at. Once I found them I felt a cold hand on my shoulder.

I gasped and turned around to see Luke.

"Omg you scared me" I laughed.

"Sorry" he laughed as well,"Why are you all alone?"

"Sara went to get a drink" I sighed.

"Oh s hit" he cursed" Come with me"

He led me upstairs to an unknown bedroom.

"Stay here" he said and closed the door behind him.

Wtf. I walked to the door and tried to open it. It was locked.

"What the h ell is this" I screamed as I banged on the door.

After about 5 min I gave up.

Since I was locked in here I decided to snoop. I could tell this room belonged to a girl since the selection of undies and bras. I turned the lights on and saw two doors to a balcony.

When I opened it cold air hit me like ice. I heard some faint yells from inside.

"Everyone out!"

The sound of running filled the house. But that wasn't the only thing I heard.

"You can't feed here you two"

It was Luke.

"If you were so hungry you can go into town we all know you'd be back in no time anyways."

Who was he talking to.?

There was a sound of someone coming up the stairs so I ran back into the room.

"Come on Cora I'm taking you home." Luke sighed.

"Where's Sara?"

"Busy" he replied coldly. His eyes were filled with anger and a light tint of red.

"You okay.?"

"Why so many questions" he sharply replied.

"Just starting a convo" I sighed.

"No no it's okay, I'm sorry I'm just on edge" he looked at me,"I forgot to tell your beautiful"

"Thank you but I only look good because of Sara's makeup magic" I smiled.

"No you look beautiful no matter what you do"
