Summary: You broke up with Lisa almost three years ago. Then you met Jennie at the store and this is not something she expected. At all.

NOTE: There's no interaction between Lisa and the reader, it's more of a platonic!Jennie x reader. BUT we'll get there in part 2. Oh, and in this universe Lisa is ... extraordinary.

A squeal behind your back caught your attention and you turned around to see your little girl grab a huge teddy bear from a lower shelf and hug it tightly. Some people eyed her curiously, startled by the noise, and you sighed, stepping back from the shelves with dairy products.

"Mommy I want that!" She huffed intensely when you came closer and you couldn't help but smile at her.

"Baby, we've talked about this. We don't scream in supermarkets, do we?" You lowered to her level and patted her head slightly. "And no, you've got tons of bears at home, you don't need this one, Vanessa."

Her eyes instantly widened and she shook her head quickly.

"I'm sorry I forgot, mommy. But Johnny and Nick need a new friend! And Julie too!" She pouted dramatically, referring to her old teddy bears and you winced, affected by her puppy eyes, knowing too well you already lost this battle.

"Uh, but not this one, honey. He's too big, he can't fit into Johnny's house, can he?" You reached out to take the bear away and your girl already went off to choosing the smaller toy with sparkling eyes, happy with that alternative.

"This one?" She asked, showing a little bear with brown fur and blue-ish eyes.

"Okay, but only one." She nodded in a hurry.

"Then let's go". You took her hand and made your way to the line. The new bear was already cuddled by your daughter and safely brought to the cashier. You paid for everything quickly and made your way out, Nessie already engaged in the conversation with her new fluffy friend.

While leaving the store, you suddenly collided with the body and nearly fell on the ground. You groaned, biting back a curse, knowing full well Vanessa would remember it if you're not careful.

"Y/N?"

Your eyes widened dramatically at the sight of the woman in front of you. She looked just as startled, mouth agape.

"Jennie?"

"It's been like... two years? Oh my God."

"Three actually. But, yeah." You replied, your mind finally started to process things.

She was just the same - chubby cheeks, cute smile, in all black. And...alone? She was indeed without any managers breathing down her neck and that was just as unexpected as seeing her in the middle of Seoul at the grocery store.

"I'm so happy to see you! We have so much to talk about, I swear." She hugged you tightly and you returned it without feeling any awkwardness as you thought you would have.

The first year without the familiar four girls was the hardest, but you managed to do it. You were stubborn enough to prove yourself you could live your life without them. Without her. Without Lisa. She was the love of your life, but this same life was too cruel to let you stay in each others arms. She was an idol, after all. All of them were and you, an ordinary person, just couldn't fit into her busy world. You had too different paces of living and it all exploded at some point, as it was expected. You couldn't go on like that, feeling empty and alone most of the time, so you let her be, even if she didn't want to go at first. Constant bickering turned into full-on arguments with screaming and flying plates and you two fell out like it was nothing, erasing everything that was connecting you to each other. Memories, phone numbers, even your friends. You didn't want them to choose, to suffer, so you let them go too. That was easier. Of course, you still loved her. But now this love was like a shadow of something you had back then, a distant memory. And it was okay. You grew older, you had your own little family. You moved on. The only thing you couldn't move on from - is being with somebody else, not her. You told yourself it was just a period, a phase that was lasting for too long now, but who could ever replace Lisa?
