CARRYING THE paints and construction papers up to Alex's apartment, he only opened the door to find his girlfriend prepared for an arts and crafts project confused. Arabella gave him a kiss to enter into his place easily as he only watched her behavior to expect an explanation for her arriving like this. "Didn't know we were hosting a kids art class here?"
"No, but that would be kinda sweet to do now that you suggested it," Arabella said and sat herself on the table alongside the materials, "Tomorrow's Earth Day? I always make posters and rally of course but I was hoping that this time, well, that you could come along with me?"
He smiled over her turning away in embarssment towards the offer and sat himself across from her. "Don't tell me you're actually going to that event Clinton and Gore are hosting? C'mon Bella, you can't actually support the guy."
Arabella raised a brow to him immediately shifting her delicate nature to knock him down his high horse as was second-nature to her at this rate. "Clinton has beliefs, Bush has none," She tried to explain to him as she opened up the various essentials to draw up new posters with, "Still can't believe you're pushing for his re-election, it's like I've had no profound effect on you."
"I can say feminist without laughing now can't I?" Watching him keep a straight despite him not being used to the phrase had Arabella laughing in approval over him mentioning this. "See, not a single laugh out of me. Not even the faintest of chuckles. You should be proud."
"Better run to the phone and call your family, they'll never believe I actually succeeded," She teased and tossed a marker over to him, "C'mon, now get to writing." Perking up over her behavior he watched her set to work on the piece of paper in front of her. Stopping in the midst of his project he went ahead to his record player to turn through some of his own personal collection as to keep up the mood.
Arabella looked up out of interest considering she'd expect him to have How to Type on vinyl as opposed to any sort of taste in music. Still she watched him set down the needle to a Louis Armstrong record and smiled to herself before going back to her work.
Noticing the way her foot tapped to the beat Alex pushed his chair close to her to appreciate her being near him. Only laughing over this she was met with a kiss on the cheek as he leaned himself into her. "What am I even supposed to put on one of these things anyways?"
"Eco not ego," Arabella suggested to him to have Alex be noticeably insulted by the statement and laughed more so out of his reaction, "Alex, it really isn't all that deep. Just a simple statement that's straight to the point."
Unconvinced by her words he only continued to tuck his head away into the crook of her shoulder. Arabella carried on with her work despite feeling him intently watching every movement she made with the marker in trying to spell out anything. "What so like, Make Love not CO2. It doesn't surprise me that my parents get along with you." Noticing Arabella aiding her eyes in approval Alex frowned over having missed what made her so happy in the first place. "What?"
"You found something to write on your sign, sunshine," She called out in reference to the statement he made and watched him shake his head in disapproval. Wanting to lead him along to go through with it, Arabella shifted him off her shoulder to eye him seriously. "Please, I think it was clever."
His eyes began to brighten over the compliment as she expected. Anything directed towards his ego was the clearest bet in allowing for Alex to let you have your way. Then again Arabella could've simply said the please all alone to have him more than convinced to write something so out of his comfort zone. "You really think so?"
