Wednesday

Classes start today and I can't be more excited for them, Emily keeps calling me a nerd for getting hyped but I'm past caring. There's only one problem, Samantha came round to our rooms telling us we have to wear something pink as part of the "pledge enlightenment" thing. I'd already thrown on a Jack Daniels tee and black shorts so I wore one pink sock and one orange sock with my tommies.

It's something pink, right?

Emily was wearing pink skinny jeans and a white vest. Oh lord, I didn't even know they made skinny jeans in pink and honestly... I didn't want to know. We both have philosophy as our first class so at least I'll know one person there.

'Come on cotton candy butt.'

'Oh please don't call me that all day.'

'You pick the pants, you deal with the name calling.'

She rolled her eyes, 'Speaking of, where's your pink thing.'

'That sounds like you're talking about a guys- Never mind, I'm wearing a pink sock.'

'You're such a boy.'

'Thanks, I think we just walked past our class.'

'Huh? Oh!' She dragged me back to the door and we entered the class.

There were already about twelve students in the class and a man I assumed to be the teacher or a bow tie wearing student. Emily dragged me across the class over to where a few people were sitting, William was one of them and he waved Em over.

'Do we have to sit with them!?' I whisper/yelled.

'Because Will's there.'

'But the guy I ditched is there too and he looks pissed.'

'Oh William says he always looks like that.'

'When did he say that!?'

'Last night when we were texting.' She mumbled and quickly sat down next to will, ending the conversation.

I plopped down next to her and pretended to play a game on my phone until the teacher called us all to attention. He was the bow tie guy so I was definitely right.

'Okay class, let's have a little fun for our first class? I need to volunteers.'

I shrunk back in my seat and he luckily passed over me picking two other people, a red haired girl and Michael.

'Okay, tell us something about yourself.' He said to the girl.

She twirled a piece o her hair through her fingers and smiled flirtatiously at Michael, 'Well, I'm a Libra.'

The teacher nodded, 'Your reply. Make it what you would really say if this was a real life conversation.'

'Okay.' Michael turned back to the girl, 'So that tells me that you participate in the mass cultural delusion that the sun's apparent position relative to our birth time and constellations somehow affects our personalities.'

The whole class was silent at his comment and the poor girl looked like she was close to tears, Mr Matthews cleared his throat and stepped between them.

'So, you believe there's a higher power controlling or helping us.' He looked at the girl and then turned to Michael, 'You're a sarcastic boy who obviously saw she was nervous and used that to your advantage, probably also a player and I think you don't like being that guy.'

Michael's mouth was open as he looked at the teacher in shock, 'I- What? No!'

'Relax, have a seat Michael.'

'How'd you know my name?'

'I was warned to watch out for you skipping my class but hey, if you do I'll just duct tape you to a chair or something.'

William chuckled, 'I would pay to see that sir!'

Mr Matthews smiled, 'Well, why don't you come up here next? With...' He looked along the class making me sink deeper in my seat, 'The girl trying to hide in her seat.'

Oh crap.

I stood up slowly and headed up to where William was already waiting with a childish grin.

'How about the boy starts us off this time.' Mr Mattews suggested.

'Okay, hey Reggie, I just wanted to tell you that I like your mismatched socks.'

'Th-thanks William.' I honestly didn't know what else to say.

'Got a little stage fright Ronny?'

'No, I'm fine.' I lied, 'Are we done?'

Mr Matthews nodded, 'Well, William, from what I can see you don't like telling people too much about yourself, you complimented something of hers instead of volunteering information about yourself.' William shrugged and then nodded slowly taking his seat.

'What's your name?'

'Ronny.'

'Well, Ronny, I don't think you have stage fright. You weren't scared of the people but rather of letting them see you.'

I sat down blushing and looked at the floor.

'Well, how about we have you,' He pointed at Emily, 'And... lets give Michael another shot. Think: Happy person thoughts.'

'I don't do happy person thoughts.'

'Act.' Mr Matthews smirked.

'Fine, Emily, I think you pink jeans look ridiculous.'

She smiled, 'I think being ridiculous is fun, besides you're one to talk with that hair Mr Stripes.' She said it in such a happy voice it was hard not to smile.

Mr Matthews seemed to enjoy it too, 'Very nice-'

'Emily.'

'Emily, right, I like the way you handled him, show's you're a small confident, ball of sassy.' He turned to Michael, 'Your acting skills suck so please don't take drama.'

Michael glared at him and crossed his arms in defiance.

'Right, who's next?'
