"Where the bloody hell has he gone to? Easter break doesn't start until the day after tomorrow." whined James as him and Sirius sat in History of Magic and Professor Binns droned on about something Sirius couldn't be expected to bother to figure out.

"Believe me, I'd go anywhere if it means I don't have to listen to you and Professor Binns at the same time." Sirius grumbled, slumped over his desk, trying to put all the energy he can summon into keeping his eyes open. "It's obvious it's his mother again. What else could it be? And weren't you the one telling me to mind my own business and stop being annoying?"

James looked like he wanted to yell at Sirius or decapitate him or both but decided Sirius probably wasn't worth getting a detention for or going to Azkaban at age eleven, and settled for glaring at Sirius. Then he went back to chewing on the end of his quill.

They didn't think Remus would come back before Easter break and he didn't.

James and Peter were going back home for Easter too. It was like nobody was staying this time. Hogwarts felt strangely empty.

Blake was one of the only few left. Lily, Alice and Marlene were gone too so Sirius and her stuck by each other.

Few days into the break, the two were sitting by the Black Lake, the sounds from the forest seeming louder in the silence that had engulfed the normally bustling grounds.

"I've never seen Hogwarts this empty." Sirius remarked, as Blake tried to skip a stone across the Black Lake's still surface. She made a face when it sank.

"Well . . . let's face it, Easter isn't as magical as Christmas." said Blake, patting the ground for another rock.

Sirius successfully skipped a rock and gave Blake a smug superior look which she returned with sticking her tongue out at him. "Then why did you stay?" Sirius asked when he was done gloating.

"I haven't had enough of Hogwarts. You?"

"I haven't had enough of Hogwarts yet either." Sirius said. He was only half lying.

There were a few seconds of silence (which is a very long time if you're with Blake) before she said, "Do you think those rocks we're skipping are wacking the Giant Squid on the head?"

"I'm not sure I want to stay around to find out. Wanna go upstairs and try to break into Remus' chocolate stash?"

"I don't think two or three chocolate frogs will be missed." Blake said with a smirk.

"If we get past the booby traps, that is."

Easter was a blur of good food, sitting in the library or outside with Blake, doing homework and sleeping in late.

James got his mother to send Sirius an Easter egg the size of a dragon's and Remus sent him a box of chocolate frogs (which made Sirius and Blake guilty about robbing him earlier so they restocked it for him).

Sirius and Blake finished the rest of their chocolate in one day and swore they wouldn't eat sweets till they turned eighty three, only to do it again the next day when Blake's uncle sent a late gift in the form of a box of Muggle chocolates shaped like rabbits.

The Hogwarts Express came back on the last day of break and with it came James, Peter and Remus.

It took a lot of stamina and self-control on Sirius's part not to cry from joy.
