A Fool's Hour (3)

"Yay, honeybunches! You destroyed them!" Poisandra squeals at Sledge, at once, Kiana looked at the others, nods all around.

"Then you had better get your eyes checked! Let's do this!" Tyler shouted as they all ran out of the smoke cloud, morphed and ready for battle.

"Yikes! This isn't any fun!" Poisandra screams loudly at her to be husband, as she runs full- speed, away from the approaching battle.

The Vivix charged at the Rangers and they wasted no time, in pulling, out of their pockets and suits, their weapons and tricks.

"One," Chase shot to his left. "Two," A Vivix went down to his right. "Three." The Vivix behind him, was destroyed by his blast and he hadn't even looked at it. "The Hotshot, does it again!" He'd continue to fire, until a monster, went and ruined his rhythm.

"I'll take you on, all by myself!" The monster shouted at Chase, who was in midair when he demorphed, groaning as he landed hard in the grass.

Kiana's eyes shot over to him, as she looks around at the battlefield, as she held her swords securely in hand.

"Behind you!" Riley shouted as Fury came up behind her, and Kiana spun around swiftly, bringing her blades up in an 'X' formation, to block the sword that was coming down at her head.

"I don't think so." She stared directly at Fury, dead straight in the eyes and out of nowhere and a bunch of purple blasts of energy, hit him, and sent him tumbling back.

Kiana looked behind her to see Chase's blaster, still pointed over her shoulder at where Fury had been, and she nods a bit at him. Chase winced as he nodded back to her.

She leapt to help Koda, who had been sent flyin' back by another monster of Sledge's army, and, she was defending him and Chase both, as the monsters... they had joined forces.

"Riley!" She heard Shelby crying out to them as she and Riley were now on the ground, and the only one, whose morph was still intacted, was Kiana.

At least it was, until she was slashed by Wrench's axe from behind, causing her to drop her swords, which left her open to attack from all sides.

She got slashed twice by every monster except for Sledge himself and she groaned, collapsing as she powers down, crawling towards her swords.

"You are a very skilled fighter, young human. You would do well in my army. Join me." Sledge holds out a hand to her, as she reached out and her hands were mere inches from the hilts of her swords.

"I will never join you!" She spits at him, stunning him briefly, which gave her the seconds that she needed. She grabbed both of the Dino swords and flips onto her feet, slashing at Sledge's chest as hard as she can.

He staggered back, backing away from her, with a loud roar of shock, fury, and all in all, maybe even a little bit of pain.

"I will never join you, Sledge. You have tried to destroy my family, you are not welcome here." She snapped at him, as she held up her swords, as it was, no one knew how.

"On your own head, be it. The next time we meet, the offer it will not be extended again." Sledge snarled and the entire army disappeared.

Kiana dropped her swords and collapsed into the grass, but only as soon as she was absolutely sure, that Sledge and his monsters were truly gone.

"Ki." Riley murmured as he crouched next to her and she winced at the look on her brother's face.

"How bad?" She whispered, coughing as she winced and grunted.

Chase was the one who crouched, next to her with Riley, who looked all conflicted, about what and just... how much to tell her.

"You look fine. You have got a new cut, under your right eye, very small and hardly noticeable, to the untrains eye. Most of the damage will probably be around the ribs, so as long as you... don't go swimming, you should be all good." Chase cut into the silence and a croak of a laugh came out from Kiana, who winced at the pain, from doin' so.

"They're gone... right?" She asked as they all nod at her, wondering why it was so important to her.

A few seconds later, she rolled onto her side and was puking her guts out onto the ground, coughin' and heavin' from the onslaught of pain.

She finished and everyone looked at each other, as she wiped her mouth as she looked like she had been through the wringer.

"Help me up, will you? We need a plan." She said and Chase extended a hand and she grabbed it. He pulls her onto her feet and she almost fell back down again.

"Woah, easy there." He said as she steadies herself and gets her feet back with help, from Chase and Riley.

"I hate busted ribs." She cursed and Chase shrugged.

"I don't think, that anyone actually really likes them." He said and she'd grunt.

"If I wasn't afraid of accidentally hitting someone else, you'd be getting hit right now, Chase Randall." She said and he chuckled.

"Yeah, okay." He says to her cheerfully, as the two boys helped her stand up on her own and they stood nearby, in case of her falling again.
