A Fool's Hour (4)

Kiana had just given up on standing up on her own, as she was now sitting on the ground, watching the others, as they argued about what to do next.

"We need a plan." Riley announced and the entire group, they all looked at each other and then, as a group... it was like they communicated through telepathy.

Since the very first thing, that they were now all doing together, was now staring directly at Kiana. "Don't you all start looking at me now. I honestly, don't think I can move, right now." She winced at the words.

"That's what we are here for." Chase murmured to her, as he watches with the others, as Tyler just took off on his own, very much, against the wishes of every other Ranger on their team.

Chase helped her up and Riley raised his eyebrows at Kiana, as if asking her a silent question and at the question it was Kiana's head, who just shook.

"Let's get back to the lab, we need to let Miss Morgan, check your injuries, and on that note, the severity of them for right now." Riley said, as Kiana lets out a loud grunt, as she took hands to help herself up.

"Come on, let's get you home." Chase said as Riley and him, each hung one of her arms around their necks, and a mere few moments after that, they'd all be very slowly, now, making their way back to the base.

"Thanks, you guys. I hate looking weak and I hate even more, when any person has to help me walk, and keep up with everyone else." Kiana grunted as they went over a bump and she was struggling to keep her balance.

"Hey, you saved our asses. It's the absolute least that we can do for you, Kiana, is to help you walk." Chase said as Riley nods in agreement, as Shelby, quite reluctantly, takes over Chase's place.

"Don't drop her." Riley said to Shelby, who was rolling her eyes at his words and almost immediately, Kiana was on the ground, groaning from where Shelby had 'accidentally' dropped her.

"Whoops, my bad." Shelby said coolly as she looked down at Kiana, who was seething in fury and pain.

"My ribs." She hissed and immediately, all of the boys at once, they all shot angry looks at Shelby, as they helped her up. Now it was Chase and Koda carrying her, as Riley had at last, gotten tired.

Kiana was half asleep from the pain in her ribs, by the time she was back inside the base with the others.

"Hey, stay awake for us." She dimly heard Chase say, before she was in a sort of place, between consciousness and not.

Well, at least she was, before a fist came out of nowhere and clocked her right in the right side of the jaw.

She almost fell right off of the table and a cry erupted from her jaw, at the new pain that she was feeling.

"Shelby!" Riley shouted at the only other girl on their team, as the Pink Ranger was now shaking out her fist from clocking Kiana.

"I really, really, do hate you Shelby Watkins. I am absolutely not kidding this time about it," Kiana winced a bit, as she spoke, and her jaw moves with it, as she accepts the freezing cold ice pack that was held out to her. "Thanks Chase." She grimaces unintentionally, as she moved her jaw again.

"You look like you are really hurting now. What happened? And tell me all of it, exactly what happened." Kendall said as she came over to Kiana, whose eyes were bright with pain.

"Everyone else had gone down and demorphed, while I was fending off the monsters that had taken out Chase and Koda. The other monsters they all came up behind me, and I got slashed, from all directions. The punch was from somewhere in Shelby's direction as usual." Kiana mumbled, as she rubs her jaw.

"I'll run some tests on you, but I'm recommending that you stay in here with me for a while. Just, so that you don't get yourself even more seriously hurt." Kendall stated to her and Kiana, she was already growling.

"You can't just bench me. You are gonna need all of us Rangers, all of us to defeat Sledge's monsters. All of us, working as a united team." Kiana says and Kendall shakes her head.

"I'm sorry, but I can't allow you to fight when you're injured so badly already. So I'll be taking that." Kendall stated and then she promptly grabbed Kiana's Energem from her necklace.

"Hey." Kiana said as she reached over to grab it back, but Kendall had it in a hand.

"Sorry, Kiana. But I can't have you going and running off, and injuring your body even more." Kendall was saying, but Kiana was already in her room and the door rumbled shut just behind her.

"She won't forget this." Riley murmured sharply to Kendall, just as he went by her and they all could hear quiet sounds of humming and even a bit of crying.
