For unbeknownst to anyone, Eileen had confided in Minerva in regards to Severus and Hermione's predicament.

Oh yes, she thought happily, they will do just fine together.

The hospital wing was bathed in golden sunlight by the time Hermione awoke from her slumber. Memories of her last conscious moment flooded her mind and she felt a strange sense of weightlessness envelope her.

Shouldn't she be in pain? Shouldn't she be hurting?

Hermione guessed that she had hit the bathroom floor fairly hard and yet as she lay perfectly still, she felt no pain at all. It was as if her mind and body were disconnected from one another.

Am I dead?

That thought was only entertained for a moment.

The morning light was streaming through the wide arched windows that took up one end wall of the hospital wing. It didn't take a genius to work out what had happened.

Great, she thought bitterly. Back here again.

It wasn't that Hermione disliked the hospital wing, she had just spent far too much time there for her liking.

First, it was when they had been checked for injuries after saving the philosophers stone from Voldemort in their first year. Then Hermione had been petrified the year after - a fact which she knew she would have to delve further into later. Why had the Basilisk attacked her if she had been Pureblood all along? Was it a case of mind over matter? She would need to research further to find out.

Their third year had been no less perilous. After all, no one survives a werewolf attack without needing to be at least looked over by a medical professional. And those were only the times she had been admitted to the wing. If she counted the times she visited her friends whilst they were under the care of Madam Pomfrey, one might suspect that the hospital was challenging the library to the right of claiming themselves as Hermione Granger's second home.

Now she had been there twice in the space of one month. And frankly, she already had enough of it.

"Ah, your awake." Minerva had beamed a little while later as she entered the space dressed in her usual emerald green teaching robes. "You must stop giving us such frights as these, my dear."

Pomfrey had been and gone. She had checked over the Gryffindor girl and given her breakfast before going about her morning duties.
