Chapter 6

The Same day:
JJ's pov:
The plane lands and Spence drives us to the M.E
"You ready to see your first dead body?" Spence asks looking over at me
"Yea, i've been mentally preparing myself" Spence nods and parks the car, we walk out of the car and go to where the M.E is
"SSA Dr.Spencer Reid, next to me is agent Jennifer Jareau" Spence said, I smile at the medical examiner. I look behind him and see the dead bodies
"So, do you have any idea what might have caused this stab wound?" Spence asked
"No weapons could've created a wound like this" The examiner said, I look at the file again and start to think
"But what I did find is all of them have hair dye in their hair" The examiner said
"In your professional opinion, do you think it was applied in their hair before or after they died" I ask
"Before" I nod my head and look at the stab wounds again, something doesn't fit. We thank the examiner and go back to the car
"Something bothering you?" Spence asked
"Yea, I think we're all looking at this the wrong way" I said going through the file again, we get to the police station and meet up with the rest. I excuse myself and make a phone call
"Hey Kenz, I need to ask you something really quick"
"Sure, ask away JJ"
"Those heels you've been thinking about buying, can you send me that link?"
"Okay, is that all you need?"
"Yea, thanks Kenz. I have to go, bye" I hang up and check my texts and see the link from Kenz, I get my laptop and search it up printing a copy of the heels. I walk back into the room where the guys are, they look at me confused why i'm holding a paper
"What's that?" Agent Gideon asked
"I made a call to a friend of mine and asked her to send me a link of the stilettos she's been think about buying, Spence you can like see if things are the same size right?" Spence nods and I place the paper down next to the picture of the stab wounds
"Is that the same size?" I ask looking at Spence, they all look at me like i'm insane
"Yea, it is. Where are you going with this?" Spence asked lifting his eyebrow
"I'm saying that this unsub is a woman and we just found the weapon she used to stab them with" I explained and look up at the guys, they look at me like I said something weird
"Okay, if we consider the unsub is a woman where does that leave us at the profile?" Agent Gideon asked
"It makes the profile fit better" Spence said
"We're ready to give the profile" Agent Hotchner said, we get out of the room and I sit down in front of Spence. They give the profile and now we just have to find the suspect
"Okay, so this unsub is a woman and in her early 30's. What else can we do to narrow down the list of suspects?" Morgan asked, Spence takes out his phone and speed dials someone. The guys talk to guy named Ren and i'm guessing that's the tech analyst. They narrow down the suspect list to a woman named Ella Harold, she's a hairdresser and works at the same mall as all of the victims. The guys start getting ready, putting on their vests and ear piece. I hug Spence before he leaves
"Be safe" I told Spence, hugging him
"I will" He pulls away and they start walking toward the SUV's. I start cleaning up and pull out my laptop to look at clothes Spence would look good in. 20 minutes later I see Agent Hotchner bringing in the unsub, Morgan,Spence, and Agent Gideon walking up to me
"Good work today, JJ can I speak to you alone?" Gideon said, Spence and Morgan walk out of the room leaving me alone with agent Gideon
"So, what did you want to talk about?" I ask
"You did a good job today JJ, i'm impressed with your skills" Agent Gideon said
"Thank you, that means a lot sir" I said with a smile
"You can call me Gideon, i'm here to ask you how you would like to become part of the team" I look at him in shock
"But i'm not even in the academy, I didn't even finish college yet" I said
"Section chief Erin Strauss has requested you to join our team after you finish the academy. As for college, since you graduate next month in June you will start the academy and will train to be our communication liaison. When you're on cases with us Spencer will be your teacher and when you're at college Spencer will also be there" Gideon said
"Why is Spence going to be at school with me?"
"He is going to be your bodyguard"
"Oh come on! I basically jinxed myself" I said sarcastically, Gideon smiles
"So, will you take this offer?"
"Of course, I would love to take this offer. I don't know how to thank you" I said smiling
"You joining our team is enough for me" Gideon said smiling, I smile and shake his hand. I walk out to meet Spence and Morgan
"So, what was that about?" Spence asked
"You're talking to your new team member and media liaison " I said smiling, Morgan and Spence's eyes go big
"No way! Congratulations!" Spence said hugging me
"Hmm, a girl on our team. It's about time" Morgan said giving me a high five
"What about school?" Spence asked
"You Spence, are going to be teaching me when we're on cases and you're going to be my bodyguard at college" I said with a big smile on my face, Spence and I will be with each other everyday
"Yes! I get to basically babysit you" Spence said with a big smile, Morgan smiles and Hotch walks up to us
"Congrats JJ, I just heard the news. Welcome to our team" He said with a smile and we shake hands
"We're staying for another day so we're going to get something to eat and go to the hotel" Hotch said, we all nod and walk out of the station. We go out to eat indian food and head to our hotel
"We only have 4 rooms so one of you three are going to have to decide who's sleeping in the same room" Hotch said looking at us handing Gideon his room key
"I'm not sleeping with Reid"
"I'm not rooming with Morgan" Spence and Morgan said at the same time, I laugh at them and take the room key out of Hotch's hand
"I'll room with Spence" I said, Spence and I smile at eachother
"It's settled, meet down here at 8 for breakfast and we will explore later on" Hotch said bidding his good night, I look at Spence and Morgan
"Come on guys, we're going on a night adventure" I said grabbing Spence's arm, they chuckle and we walk out of the hotel going to city walk. I see the fountain where water comes out from the ground,
I take off my shoes because I don't want to get them wet. Suddenly I feel someone pick me up from the waist and I see Spence bringing me closer to the fountain
"Spence! Put me down!" I said holding onto him
"Im afraid I can't do that JJ" Spence said smiling, he starts walking through the water getting himself and I wet. In the distance I can hear Morgan laughing at us, Spence sets me down in the middle of the fountain and the water comes up getting Spence and I fully wet
"Spence! We're all wet" I said looking down at my clothes, he laughs at me
"Come on JJ, i'll walk us back out of here"Spence said opening his arms, I walk into them putting my arms around his neck. He picks me up and starts walking out of the fountain, we get out and he puts me down
"Let's start heading back to the hotel" Morgan said holding my shoes and Spence's jacket, we walk back and half way I start getting cold. Spence probably saw me shiver and put his jacket over me, I smile at him and continue walking. It's 10:30 at night and we get to our hotel room, Spence and I walk in and I bring my go bag into the bathroom with me. I shower and change into an oversized shirt and shorts, I walk out of the bathroom and Spence walks in. I get on my bed and start texting Kenz, 5 minutes later Spence walks out of the bathroom with no shirt and pajama pants. I can feel myself blush just looking at him, I put my phone down to charge and turn off my lamp
"Night Spence" I said getting comfortable in the bed
"Night JJ" Spence turns off his lap and I close my eyes, feeling myself asleep.
